Is insulted by what Port have offered him, which suggests he wants alot BUT....

He would be pretty handy. Plenty of experience, tough as, game breaker.

Thoughts?

Can you imagine.........Moondog and Pickett both running full steam at an opposition player to steam roll them.

As much as Pickett is fun to watch as a hit man, don't believe he derserves a spot on our team. Too overpriced compared to what he delivers on the field for mine....

I think he was on 300 they offered 200 then 150. So he would want 300 from us, to much i suspect. How old is he he would want to be 28 or less for us to even look at him.

Money is obviously an issue on certain levels, but I can't see him moving back to Victoria.

If family matters was the reason he moved from Victoria in the first place, I can't see why he'd throw that away for the extra dosh in the final years of his career. Wouldn't be surprised if it's all a show to encourage a better offer from Port.

I don't care how much he wants - he's hideously overrated. Only kicks goals when his opponent is elsewhere. Will not go in for the ball. Picks off players half his size who don't know he's coming.

In short, no. No. No.

The bolded bit is the problem.

More often than not he 'picks off' players rather than hitting them with good honest bumps.
Nothing tough about sniping, just ask Two Kicks Guerra.

Towards the end of the year Gary jnr had 80 odd hard ball gets which was ranked no 1 or 2 in the comp . Pickett was languishing in 168th place on 11. He is not that hard at the ball as people think. Not for me.

Geelong lack a game breaker, and the kids aren't getting any younger.

The fans think a flag is nigh, so why not have a crack at Pickett?

He'd certainly add the intimidation factor the Cats lack. Wouldn't mind living in the sticks, too. A lot more comfortable than Melbourne.

If he performed relatively consistantly, it could make you a top four team next year as he'd steal two-three games off his own boot.

Biglands is now half his size?

To be fair, Pickett's had a terrible year. He has tremendous ability, but a terrible year. Nothing much went right for him at all. Also, this 'doesn't go for the hard ball' rubbish, is just that. Williams has been playing him mostly as an outside receiver lately, for whatever reason. He's also been rotating him with the other players very peculiarly. I think Williams has taken the phrase 'impact player' far too seriously. Byron's rarely on for longer than 10 minutes, it seems, and when he is it looks like he's given free reign. Don't worry, he can get the hard ball, he just needs to be used more wisely.

(Not that i want port to trade him.)
