My owner knows you Ron, her name is Jenna Haze, she sends her love. Were you a foot deep when you blew your ****a valve?
Max, how many AFL games did Rambo play? Loats is the most destructive big full forward I have ever seen play VAFA footy. He was also a maaaaaagnificent kick for goal, just a joy to watch his perfect action.
How are the poo's looking this year? Straight to D1 ala Parade or can you stop the rot?

Dil,

It is possible that we will visit D1 next year. But I don't think so.

I think we will be competitive and have the ability to run out the 4 quarters each game. If we played with the current fitness levels last year, we would have one 2-3 more games minimum. That should see us stay in C this year.

Hard to campare Rambo to a ex AFL player who never played in A Grade. Rambo won goal kicking whilst his team was terrible and at the age of 45+.

The Big O was still the bigest and best I have seen over my 31 years in the ammos. (Maybe Harvet (St.B) and Tranquyilli (Marc) may have come close).

Maxwell,
Your mother tells me you didn't rate a chap by the name of Dan Richardson who she tells me may have kicked a few goals in a run of 6 consecutive A Grade premierships for the former glamour organisation known as the Old Xaverians?

I could name a dozen or so forwards with better credentials than the Big Orgasm, and I should know by the way, and Bollywood Barbie? Surely you jest?

Dil,

Loats twice the player of Rambo. You lose creditibility on that comment.

Never questioned Hilton or Tallis, and Campbell seems like a good get, but how long will he last?

Yes we were desperate to survive in B, but we ended up where our performances indicated.

PS: Only my mother calls me Maxwell, and thats when Ive done something wrong!!

Loats certainly did monster many C and D grade defences, but so have many others over the years (mcgeorge, acreman, kirzner etc) Not sure he would have smashed them in A grade. Got injured a lot too.

Great post Les...geez that Acreman could punt, um sorry, play. Over the journey he would have kicked a million goals, consumed a million cans and used up a million mates and their bank accounts too.

For what it's worth I have heard the following C Section so far;
- Marcellin have got Daniel Jones from Strathmore, massive man and get for them.
- OI have signed up Chris Johnson exCarl/Melb, another solid get
- Oakleigh have lost Harold with a couple more to go
- Old Camb have lost plenty and big Carlisle has also shipped off to Pascoe Vale
- NOBs have lost Firman to Essendon
- PEGS have finally got their man Williams (son of Greg) across from the money valley league - gun

Early signs for me are that it won't be as close as 2012.
Cheers

You
Who is everybody playing in Praccie Matches???? Oakleigh playing OC, Mulgrave(EFL Div 2) and Dingley (SFL Div 1)..........Can confirm we have lost Harold (it's on the VAFA Website), but have picked up far more than we have lost........Almost injury free and good number's on track, with more coming after cricket/ start of March......

You will need too, as Harold is a gun, and will be very hard to replace.

Doherty brothers gone to St Bedes. A couple of your better performers who might be hard to replace.

Maxy - It's "O"ver, It's "O"ver.

Absolute gold.

The big fella is off overseas, so to pay for his trip he had two options.
1: Be a forward coach at OI on a voluntary basis.
2: Travel to Lavington each week on the promise of $xxx per game.

Was never going to play for us in 2013, however it was great while it lasted.
A monster of a player, and a great bloke. He will be missed.
Maybe back in 2014??

Both played in the EDFL last season and should be good gets for their respective clubs. Jones in particular was a star in our league.

Marcellin played the Roys on Saturday in Doreen (yep, Doreen!!). After the 3hr drive, it was a pretty even game in the conditions but this Jones bloke is huge and took some big, big marks. He looked a tad underdone but will definitley be a handful.
Marcellin looked to have 4 new talls which gives them a better mix than last year. Depth may be an issue but if they can keep their better players on the park they will be right in the mix.

Monash Blues had a big win over Belgrave yesterday. The blues won by 41 points but were wasteful in front of goal, having many more scoring shots. with still a few to come in monash look like being a good, young and quick side this year. Will be much more competitive this season. Any other practice match results from yesterday?

The Nodders played Old Brighton on Saturday at probably the smallest ground I've EVER seen - Elsternwick Park No 2. I cannot believe they play senior football on a regular basis on that ground!
Old Brighton smashed us in both games. We had quite a few out but it wasn't pretty.

Good to hear Johnny Boy. Sounds like we can expect some improvement from the young Ashes. Where do you expect the upside to come from? Sounds like there's a couple of good uns coming back. Few younger players might step up too you would think? Love to see big Cosgriff improve again.

Monash Blues had another big win this preseason beating Parkdale 14.12 to 7.8. Plenty of contributors across the ground, will the goals being shared around. Looking pretty strong with blokes like Smythe and Cosgriff to come back in for round one. New coach Hayden Stanton will have this young side fired up for round 1 and hopefully primed for a far more competitive season. Any other results today?

Hoers rolled into the Barnyard and won the second and third terms, whilst the OC bookended the game well.

Timekeepers scored it 14.7.91 to 13.10.88 in Ivanhoe's favour.
Plenty of players kept the interchange steward busy.
Best I can say is neither team looked underdone ahead of round 1.

Would love the same ground/weather conditions next week......and every week thereafter
