Fantastic news that the Ashes have stayed in C grade! They are delighted to secure Hayden Stanton as the Senior Coach for 2013. After a successful playing career, he has been a full time senior coach for the past 8 seasons. His most notable coaching tenure was the 5 years he spent at Mulgrave FC from 2007 to 2011. In this perio
d he lifted the club to 3 consecutive grand finals with a premiership in 2010 that saw the club elevated to Division 1. He was subsequently awarded the Eastern Region Coach of the Year in 2010 by AFL Victoria. Excellent appointment and i'm sure Hayden will have the boys very competitive in 2013.

Bedford. What chance Simon Buckley playing at Ormond next year? The club were always sure he would be back at the Gunn once his AFL days were over but with the younger Buckey now at Beaumaris (with his cousin) and the middle Buckley no longer playing I guess it is no longer a certainty. Is Marty still involved down there? He might hold the key.

Well it wont be for money Perspective if that’s what your suggesting. St Paul’s a very likely option as he is a local boy and played juniors with them until U14s. Also the Doggies have broken with tradition and are starting to throw some cash around.

Have no doubt one day he will play at Ormond due to family connections but maybe not while they are in D grade.

Understand that he is well looked after at Carey (not $ but job) and while I don’t believe he is an ‘old boy’ he would be unlikely to cross the road to play C grade. You would think however that Marcellin would be making an inquiry.

What other news from Carey. Late season mail was that they were really going to load up on recruits and have a decent crack at 2013.
