Based on the above Oakleigh are to be congratulated for their immediate development in graduating from hitting opponents in retaliation (ie. reactive), to hitting blokes out of frustration (ie. proactive), as was the case all afternoon yesterday. Pity they couldn't hit the scoreboard or their teammates chests with anywhere near the same monotonous regularity.
Geez Scribe, doesn't sound good at all mate, I'm happy the lads were able to overcome that sort of footy, can you elaborate any more?

Selections are getting better but still waiting to record a clean slate - maybe this week.
Really not confident about the bottom of the table clash and similar with the local derby at Bulleen.

NOBS vs Oakleigh
Mazenod vs PEGS
Old Camberwell vs Monash Blues
Marcellin vs Old Ivanhoe
Banyule vs Peninsula

Round 8 Tips:- Forecast is for a fair bit of rain tonight and tomorrow so grounds will be wet and scores closer.
Bigger bodies rather than speed will come to the fore. Maybe a week for a couple of surprises.

Well, well, well! I expected a few surprises after the deluge but I didn't tip any of them!
Congrats to NOBs with their first win, Congrats to Old Ivanhoe for knocking off Marcellin,
and Congrats to a wonderful, character-filled win by an under-manned Pirates at Banyule!
The Premier C ladder is still very fluid and the long range forecasters are saying we're in for a wet winter.

Great result for your boys Riss. Big results for Maxies hoes as well.

Big game next week when the Nods and the Ashes do battle! Bring it on.

Very happy chappy. Great game played on the best surface is Melbourne. Umpires could have worn runners.

22 goals in the first half, and only 7 in the second. Both teams had the chances.

Thank God for the week off.

Riss, player who was found guilty of the off the ball incident was reported the following week.
2 weeks prescribed.
9 weeks for stricking
Total 11 weeks.

That's where he comes from, Max. It wouldn't surprise me if he's gone home. Old Camberwell seem to get mesmerised by ex-afl players through an AFL player-manager in their coterie group. None of them tend to last.
The Club was building an impressive junior group with U18 & U19 a few years ago, only to stuff it all up.

From Rutherglen's website.

The Cats returned to the winners list on Saturday after a gritty, hard fought victory over neighbouring club Barnawartha. The win was significant for many reasons for the Cats season, however none more so than honouring the return of former local boy Robert Campbell to his home club. Robbie did more than just play his part in an extraordinary on- field performance. He entertained the large gathering of supporters at the President’s luncheon, trained with the senior group on Thursday night, and signed autographs and spoke to all the juniors. A true all round performance with his on field efforts enabling the Cats to dominate their opposition on the day.

In conditions better suited for water polo, the Cats jumped out of the blocks in the first quarter dominating the centre clearances through some good old fashioned in and under football. The ball continually found its way into the Cats forward 50 and the Tigers were made to pay with a blistering 6 goal to 1 first quarter. With the rain continuing to come down the Tigers threw everything at the Cats in the second quarter bridging the margin to just 16 points at the main break and the game well and truly in the balance.

One of the heaviest downpours in recent memory hit during the break and the conditions for football quickly turned into a get the ball forward at all costs. The Cats jumped out of the blocks in the third using the conditions to their advantage and their newly formed soccer skills to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the right direction. A 5 goal to zero quarter blew the contest out of the water in favour of the more determined Cats outfit.

The final quarter was as expected a slug fest with the Cats defence continuing to demonstrate great resolve to fight out the final quarter and keep the Tigers goalless in the second half. In the wet conditions it was a remarkable display of hard, disciplined football that keeps us in fifth position.

The final margin of 55 points left coach Hatton pleased with the result and a fitting end to the welcome home for Robbie Campbell.

I agree regarding ex AFL footballers.

PS. Speaking of ex AFL ex Old Camberwell player Aaron Lord. Any chance he will pull on the boots for his new club, Oakleigh!!!

Surely you would tell him ''Thanks but no thanks'' if you were Old Camberwell? What a joke they have become if they allow him to come back, surely not???

Common Practice especially when there is a "family event" back home!
Really think the spanker is starting to lose it!
Camberwell's choice and this issue rates 1 out of a 100 on The Richter Scale!
Thanks but no thanks Mr Non Positive .... CBQ.

At least there has been some commentary in this Thread, otherwise it has been dead boring.

It seemed strange to clear him when OC were playing last week and not playing this week!

Another moronic contribution from the Village Idiot, no wonder this VAFA forum is shot.
FWIW, I agree with Briza, how can this bloke Campbell go overseas for 3 matches, then play a game or 2, then play up the bush? What a mockery he is making of Old Camberwell, it's Tom Foolery at its worst.
All of the players and supporters at OC must be wondering why this is happening to them, they are a dog's breakfast ATM, sad to see.

Just for the record, yours and vafaeye's are your first comments on this forum this year, so I doubt whether we are shot from your contributions. It seems one 'legend in their own lunchtime' follows the other around the VAFA site, taking shots at one another. I hope you go back to where you belong.

Please at least do some basic, prep level research before you mouth off Grissoles. You are right on one level though, I don't usually lower myself to talk C grade football, it's kind of like watching a black and white movie, why would you bother?
