I thought it was fairly obvious that my tounge was firmly in my cheek!

I am taking up a collection to purchase Ajax a Lap top with internet connection to hand over to them on Saturday, as obviously they don't own one or are banned from this site. Come on boys give us something, anything.![]()

Not sure where in the VAFA handbook it states it's mandatory for all clubs to be represented on Big Footy. But maybe I missed that bit.
Perhaps they read the posts about how Kirk Norton walks on water and are scared off and every other post about what the boys had for breakfast today.
Don’t agree with everything that VAFA HQ do but I can tell you they would be absolutely wrapped with Werribee’s success and would love nothing more than to see them in A grade. Like em or loathe em they have invested plenty in growing a VAFA presence in the West and fought the WRFL over the Point Cook issue. They have established an umpires training base in the west to accommodate the growing number of western based clubs and umpires so any suggestion that the VAFA are concerned about Werribee rising through the ranks are ridiculous and ill –informed. And the way some people are carrying on you would think that Werribee’s rise through the ranks is breaking new ground. It is not. Ormond were an A grade powerhouse for many many years as were several other district clubs. Beauy and Oakleigh already doing good things in B grade with Ormond and Hampton having been there also recently. This myth about school & uni based not wanting district clubs in the higher grades is just rubbish and seems to be perpetuated by a minority with a chip on their shoulder. The best thing about the VAFA is that the promotion/relegation system across so many grades ensures a competitive game most weeks. Premier grade clubs could not care less who or where they play and would welcome Werribee in the top grades. However they need to get there first.
Hey Rooster, take it easy on those serious pills. Never mind Werribee, Even the majority of you De La boys have probably never ventured across the bridge...
Ophidian Old Boys
Notice all the talk about Werribee again. Does ANYONE have ANYTHING on Ajax. Surely KB or ANYONE yes ANYONE from Ajax have anything on Ajax. Still believe their the Team to beat for the Flag.
Quite frankly if your a representative of Ajax, and they are all like you, maybe it's a good thing your not on here.
We understand our intelligence is not quite the elite status required at Ajax, so we will stick with our common folk. Sorry to disturb the ivory tower!
Enough of the chip on the shoulder/us against them mentality already. Made no mention of intelligence or postcodes (And note - I'm not from Ajax) as they're irrelevant. Werribee are going places, I'm on the record as saying I think you'll be in A-Section shortly and like other posters I think that's great for the VAFA.
My point was that merely the expectation by whichever Werribee poster it was that people from all clubs would be regular posters on the site is ridiculous.
While its not a travesty or a sensation for that lack of an AJAX presence, its not that ridiculous to be a little interested that a club isn't represented here. Its a popular board and a lot of discussion happens, everything from the astute to the idiotic. Its all banter and convo, and people generally like to be involved.
No-one's here against their will of course, but it would be great to hear how the feeling is at AJAX, as they're travelling pretty nicely and are short odds to be a B-Section club next year.
Are all the other clubs represented? I've seen plenty of Bees, and there's people who are with OC, Mazenod, Rupo, Fitzroy, Ormond, MHSOB ... do we have any OE and Monash folk here? (I don't read everything)
IMO Werribee are a more complete outfit than Caulfield and Beaumaris from 2010. They have been scary good against us. They have many challenges ahead though.
There best ten players could all earn 400+ a week in the WRFL.
The inevitable growing of dissention of two's players who think they should be playing seniors. Even two's players could earn coin in the WRFL.
The management of this is difficult, at Rupo after 2007 we believed we were heading up the grades, the above factors has placed us back with the pack and decimated our depth.
I believe we have caught Ajax at the right times this year, they were flat but we were on, the ball fumbles your way on those days, they are great days, paradise actually.
Spot on boys. The one thing that Werribee has is a Good coach that looks after the boys and will do anything for them and they return the favour. 98% of Werribee's team have come from their junior sides and tend to stick fat although we do lose a few each year. But it is tough and a lot of work to keep them. B grade would be helpful in doing that and then A grade. The incidence of non-amateur clubs poaching ammo players is also magnified in the cases of clubs such as Rupo who are geographically removed from the others in their division/section.
It may not just affect the willingness of the best players to stick fat, rather than play in the local league(s) where travel is likely to be less distance and less often, but it can also hammer your depth with guys not getting senior games, but then feeling tempted to play locally as senior players at a lower standard but with only 10-20 minute drives to/from games (rather than the 60+ minute treks from Sunbury to the south eastern suburbs every second week).
Very tough indeed.
Werribee should be able to get over the hurdle which so narrowly eluded Rupo in 2007 by getting into Premier B. I think that's critical for their player retention as the increase in standard/profile within the competition will be a good selling point to retain/recruit players.

Can't wait to see either or both of Scotch and OM"s having to travel out to Werribee next year in B. Their GPS's won't even recognise the suburb!
