Whilst it was disappointing for the 2s to go down in the early fixture, the comprehensive performance of Kirks boys was a joy to watch.

Best game I've seen Wayne play for ages, and obviously Blacky benefitted from the week off against Ormond! Well done to the Morrows too, so good to have them out there on such a huge day for the club. Our defensive pressure inside our forward 50 was sensational and you could see the spirit of the Jackas sag away with each turnover and goal.

Off to Premier B lads. Job well done. Thanks to all and here's hoping it's with another flag to unfurl in 2012.

Any hope for AJAX in two weeks time Grum? (assuming they do make it). From your perspective was it just indicative of what will happen in the granny too, or were there elements of shell-shock or outofsortsness - that might be resolvable - as well?

Good result by the tiges, and accurate goal kicking with a tricky cross wind at northcote.

I haven't played footy for a long time myself, but I do know one thing about what I saw today. It was a superior group of players refusing to let their opponents dictate how the game was to be played.

Whether it's Ajax, Mazenod or Old Camberwell, their efforts won't solely determine whether they win the flag. They will need to catch us on a bad day. Frankly, it is Werribee's to lose in my slightly biased opinion!
