Re: Season 2011

Anyone who underestimates Werribee does so at their own peril.

Based on my experiences and observations of D1/C/Werribee over the past 2 seasons, I reckon the 2010 outfit would've won between 7 and 10 games in C section this year, finishing 5th or 6th.

Presuming they lose few and pick up more, they'll be a shot at finals for sure.

Thats a great call scribe. Also given the group of 19s they have coming up fresh quick legs and some talent to add to a already seasoned side no reason why the shouldnt be more than a challenge. Also well done to Fitzroy 19s some kids in that side will have an impact in C grade during next year.:thumbsu:

Whispers a few who have gone down Geelong way might be enticed to come back. Hopefully they liked what they saw on the weekend!

Scribe, Well done to your 19's, best side on the day won the game. Good effort by the Werribee boys to get back into the game, but Fitzroy way too good early on.

Re: Season 2011

What a croc. They said the same about Rovers and Oakleigh when both sides came out of D1 a few years ago. Look where they both are now.

Mick, have seen all 3 come out of D1 and can tell you that Werribee are every bit as good as any side to come up to C over the last decade. Could do with a couple of big blokes but pretty well equipped to go next year I would think if they can hold it together.

Correct TT, I am not sure what came over me, maybe I was feeling all warm and fuzzy with Smytheys win.....what i really meant to say is that Werribee are a bunch of short, fat receivers who will be lucky to win a game in 2011 and only won this year because the umpies looked after them.

That restores the balance!!

Short and fat and u still couldn't catch them.

Monash will make the finals in C in 2011 and Werribee won't be far behind them so they could sneak in too. Admittedly Werribee did get lucky against Monash 3 times last month, but we were just having a bad month!
Hear the Ashes have already picked up/got back 6 or 7 certain ones players, so that's a fair effort in September before recruiting has warmed up.

You were really unlucky at soldiers reserve in the last round of the home and away. Went down to the wire that one!

First piece of vaguely interesting 2011 news. Scribe has defected to Old Camberwell from Fitzroy to be their senior assistant coach. Don't know who our new senior coach will be, but I heard it will be announced shortly.

Does that mean no more Scribe on this board in 2011? I guess it does. Brian will be lost with his main target no longer visible.

Congrats on the appointment, Frase.:thumbsu:

Thanks AM,

'Tis true, and accordingly I must hang up the boots, the scribing pen, and most likely the BF membership too.

Time to grow up, I guess.

Adieu and take care everyone.

I heard you might have been interested in the Ormond assistant role Scribe. Will you be helping with the timekeeping at OC

Geez bedford that incident is really seared into your brain. Time to move on maybe?

I can't see any reason why Frase can't continue to post here in a non partisan manner. I've got it -"Camberwell Cam";)

Scribe wont hang them up, he is addicted! Good luck Scribe, you have a lot to live up too with Ziggy and POS the last great coaching combo to go around at GBO.
I heard Peninsula were interested, surely this would have been a better fit location wise?

OEG.

Looking forward to a good year. New ground and pavilion state of the art.Best ground by miles in the vafa.

That's nice.

Given your club has plummeted from A to C going 4-32 in the process, it's remarkable that you boast in early October 2010 that nobody is leaving.

What are you doing, kidnapping the entire list and locking them up until April 2011? Geez, we're all quaking in our grass-cats.

Wake up KB, no club goes 4-32 and keeps its entire list. Even if it does, it's obvious that they're a bunch of hacks.
