Righty-ho chaps, enough shenanigans h'yar.
Let's cut to the chase...

Werribee....by a lot
Ajax....by a lot
Fitzroy....by a lot
Mazenod....by a lot
R....Ru...Rup....OC...by a little

Cheers

Grum

Made it to Round 18 more or less in one piece. Can smell the finals in the air, with the cut grass and short skirts of spring.

Werribee to tune up with a big win.
Ajax to tune up with a big win.
Monash to finish off the year on a bright note at the Frearson.
Liked Rupos efforts last week but OC to win at the Barnyard.
Roys to finish a long year for the High.

Leaving the big two in the second semi, Nodders and OC playing off for third and Monders and High for the drop. Unless of course something unexpected happens........

Good luck to all.

Les out.

Three seasons ago i saw a final series where Werribee went out in two disappointing final losses. Rupo were the premiers and heading to C grade. How the worm has turned. Rupo has lost its way and Werribee is heading to B grade. Time to take stock boys and head in the right direction. Moriarty where have you been?

Wow-wee chaps - what an odd way to end the regular season.

Can't say I ventured out to Ormond yesterday as I heard on the grapevine over half our senior 22 were resting in preparation for next week's inevitable battle with the Boys from Smorgon. Yawn!

Still, to effectively hand the 4 points to Ormond was a bit of an interesting tactic going into the finals series. Monash doing the job on Mazenod must have been devastating for Bedford and his mates as I'm sure they would've been hoping the upset of the y'ar was enough to save them from returning to D1. Still, they should never have got themselves in such a pickle I guess.

Roys losing to MHSOB must've been a ho-hum affair but the OC win over Rupo probably shows those boys have earned their stripes. Jackas over OEG was to be expected.

Now for the real stuff - any idea where/when the 2 finals are being played? I understood it was usually the Sandringham footy ground, which will make it an easy 15 minute trip for the Jackas!

I'll take the Bees and OC in an upset to win (even though I'm sure the tipping has finished for the season, but...)

Cheers

Grum

Grum, the Bees had 9 out and Ormond had 6 out of their best. A great game of footy with The Bees looking like they would run over Ormond at any time, but a revamped back line held firm. Good luck to Werribee in the finals as it will be good for a district side to win the flag and not the schoolboy w***ers.
OC to belt Mazenod and play Ajax in the prelim who will choke and go out in straight sets.

Methinks you're showing your bias, bedford. The Jacka's and the Bees will be at the big dance. The Nodders rested plenty yesterday (thanks for that) and will take care of a Rodney Eade less ;) Wellers.

Don't agree with 9 out. Think only 3 or 4. Can you name the 9?

Bees were only missing 5 blokes I believe; A Taylor, N Black, M Purton, S Mccutcheon and A Morrow.

You could argue that you want winning form going into finals but given the injury list down there the boys definetly looked as though they were preserving themselves.

Nothing to play for on the weekend and they know that if they play their best footy they can roll the jackas (as seen the week before). All the bees really wanted was to get through the game unscathed.

So any praise for the kids from ormond , they played well

I think you adequately covered that yourself.

We obviously rested our key forwards but credit where due. I'd say your coaching staff would be wondering why that type of effort didn't happen last week when there was a chance to jump out of relegation against OEG?

Mystifying and frustrating for certain.....
