Don't think Monza finished top 10 as Rupo were fairly even, but he's certainly a very talented player. I swear I had him nailed in 3 tackles last year and each time he got the arms free and handballed clear into the path of a team-mate on the run. Very good vision.

Perhaps if he toned down the kebabs at the wee hours after a large Saturday night, he might be able to lead the Woodsmen to A grade!!!

Seriously good ground. Club rooms not so great. IMO the best in the area (outside the school grounds).

Correct. Super ground but no atmoshpere.

Bulleen Cobras = D4 and super council upgraded ground.
Bulleen Temp = D1 (but as high as B Grade in last 10 yrs) and crap ground in disrepair.

Work that one out.

hey yippa heard rumuors from a few parkdale boys over easter that "mr 5 time" himself paul sullivan not to happy with some people at parkdale and maybe departing with a few others on the skye train. please tell me this isnt so would really hurt parkdale

Is that to follow Stephens? What division of SFL are they in? A bit of a step down for P Sullivan if that's the case...

Monz won our b&f, polled 8 votes with the umps, a bit surprising as that curly top definitely stands out. All the boys have been on the kebab,KFC and Hungry Jacks, Pete Barry works for himself so is happy to run around in the twos at the moment, looked ok on Saturday. The bottom half of the ground was the section re-graded that is patchy but hopefully the rain will run off now. The top end is in the best shape for 15 years.
Spoke to a bloke who plays for East Keilor who said Hampton Rovers were excellent Saturday, very big and pretty skilfull, will they be a smoky?

Come on fellas its not all that bad. Im sorry we cant all live in luxury appartments in Mentone (on the right side of the Hwy) and in Hampton. Typical stuck up ammos hey, Yippa.
Tell me did the man called Horse have a run on Saturday or are they still spelling the nuggety little back pocketer.
Gp, i believe he didn't play and was spotted downing 2 hot dogs at half time of the 2's a la rowley style! Is playing this week against the pirates. Was a bit harsh on the skye folk. Didn't need to be front teeth, could've been a couple of back ones!

Wouldn't read too much into that. EK had a couple of blokes who could find the footy and use it, but as a whole they weren't much.
Having said that, Hampton had half of last year's Grand Final side playing and most of the rest will be available for round 1. Definitely looking a lot better than they were this time last year. Round 1 GF rematch might have a bit to do with that.

They are in div 3 .They only play 4 times per year on a Sunday. The comp is actually a lightning premiership.Sulli just wants some extra fitness it was either Div 3 or Div 2 Fida.

KB that's better then the Friars as we don't even have a home ground this year due to the school digging up the oval! Friars are playing at Bulleen Cobra's ground. Not sure what it's like!
despite the Friars ground being a little thin on consistent grass cover last year it was actuallly a great surface to play footy on as it had great give in the surface yet it held together quite firmly and was condusive to a fast running game. All the best to the Friars on this years foreign turf, that may present a few challenges early, but as KB indicated, if Baggoley gets his hands on it enough, you guys will be a handful:)

Rumor has it Jade Rawlings has been down at the Friars as kicking coach. If this is true, my tip is Baggoolleybaloo will kick a ton in 2008, points or goals????!!!!! God help us if he kicks straight that's all i can say.

MHS Young players to watch:
S Volkering- Coming off a spell, good pace, Wunderkind
M Nicholas- Good mark, fit, spent too much time at Berkely
O Walsh- Mediocre last year, interrupted pre-season due to work, is due
L Evans- Hard, excellent pre-season, captaincy material
J Gerner- Good overhead, wily, is the youngest 30-something in the competition
T Rendell- Can go

Thoughts?

Damage,

Are you from MHSOB by any chance? My mate reckons Shane Clayton has been working with the midfield over the pre-season. Any truth to the rumor?

If so, wow wee they'll be looking for big things early on in season 2008!

Good rumour that. His work for a real estate firm have severely hampered his ability to work with midfield guns. But look out anyway.

According to some on BF, there are 12 blokes down at preseason at the Woodfull-Miller. Don't know how correct this mail is. We will soon see, with the Blue-baggers making the trip down city-link in Round one.

Rupo lost to Beuamauris by 8-10 goals not sure, pretty convincing by them anyway. We were very small today but had a go. Few injury worries, we look forward to Round 1 possiblynot as up and going as 2007. Our full list is still very good so we'll see what happens!!!!!!

Oakleigh ventured down to Old Haileybury yesterday. Was thought to going to be a tough tight match, but ended up seeing a well drilled team in oakleigh dispose of the B grade Haileybury side by about 10 goals, both teams were close to full strength and just shows that oakleigh will be right in the mix this year.

Notable goal kickers. Not sure on exact details, but both cleary and barrance bagged about 3 - 4 each and harold and snagging a few.

Best players: Harold, Chapple, Tunik, Rutts, Briggs and Britt

haileybury were terrible they were missing b.voss and s. loewe... handy inclusions although they won't make that much of a difference i don't think

Yeah I went down to the Oakleigh v Haileybury game. If that is Haileybury's best side minus voss & loewe then we will see then in C grade in 2009. They were absolutely disgraceful.

Very impressed by Oakleigh, will be there abouts this year.

Ormond played St Pauls (SFL 1st Div) yesterday & although no scoreboard, may have gone down or won by 1/2 goals. 2's won by 15 goals.

Looking forward to Rd 1 this week! Bring it on...!

Ormond sen's lost by 10 - 12 goals, Ormond res won by a similar margin. Some key players did not play after 1/2 time, but not 10- 12 goals worth. Talent wise, Ormond will be 30% - 40% better than last year, but will need to improve on yesterday's performance.
