Heard a rumour at the pub that Hamptons sandy players now include Daniel Gribbin and Jake Williams? Any truth to the rumour??

Daniel Gribbin played all is junior footy at Hampton and has again listed them as his home club after a year at De La Salle.
Jake Williams did get a clearance from Xavier to Hampton but was encouraged from the people at Sandringham to have a side in a higher grade as his home club for development reasons so for that reason he is now at St. Bedes.

Not much happening on here. It appears as though the district juggernaut is bucking the trend looking at the current top 4. One must imagine this can only be a good thing for amateur footy. Cheap swipes and over-inflated egos seem to be the order of the day. Long overdue was Ajax calming down and putting an end to crying foul about the lack of respect. Seems to be working wonders for their on-field results. Surprised Yosi hasn't been on here to spruik off about his team.
Story of the season has to be Rupertswood. 13-0 last year and almost a cert to spend time thinking about what could've been in D1 next year. They got close to HR last week, but even Hampton seem to be slightly faltering. One suspects they might be about due for their 1st loss.
Should be an interesting match on the weekend. Hampton have taken all before them and at home would be favoured. Danger game as Ajax may just have turned the corner on the back of Saturday's performance.
The Monders have been a little disappointing as has Mazenod. With only 4 points separating 2nd and 8th it's anyone's guess who'll make up the other 3 positions at the halfway mark, but I'll have a stab at it:

Hampton 36(Likely to have all their Sandy listed players this weekend and Friars the week after)
Ormond 24(need a spark and 2 home games might do it)
Ajax 20(should win at least one of the next 2)
Mazenod 20 (home game this week and Monash the week after)
Parkdale 16(will get over MHSOB this week, but won't beat Ormond at the Gunn)
Oakleigh 16 (a chance against Mazenod, but a Rupo upset the week after to make 9th spot interesting later on)
Monash 16 (I suspect they're about to drop off battle out 9th spot with Rupo)
MHSOB 12 (still yet to impress, but will do enough after the half way mark)
R'wood 12(looking gone. Monash may save their skins from the drop)
W'friars 4 (I'm tipping an upset this week, but write them off)

Am tipping Rupo to finish 10-8 and sneak into 4th. The list is finally coming together and the back half of the year is set to be large.

A Barney spray is a real spray as well, not a dry eye in the house if you are within 15 metres of the flying spittle !! Did the teeth come out Gunn?

No teeth out, but umberella's were needed in th efront rows!

Bedford, a spray was given at 3/4 time AS WELL as after the game. If you were in the rooms you would have heard it! Ask the players, a few of them came out afterwards saying it was one of the better one's given!

Is that a fact?

Funny,

I heard the exact opposite from an official this week.

Your source Monkey?

Just take a lazy stroll through the team sheets. You dont see a few names reappearing? Rupo in 08 are doing things a little differently. Unlike previous years when the started with a bang, in 08 they started a little rusty as many players were non committal about playing as offers and options were a plenty. Things are slowly settling and my source (Club official) tells me things are beginning to look strong.
I'll stand by my 10-8 for now, but am cautious that i may be sausage rolled.

i was wondering if any ajax supporters or followers of C grade can tell me about G. Blieden... i saw he has polled votes in every game for the year so far...

whenever ajax is spoken about it is always Dukes, Ritterman and Lewski

why does Blieden never get mentioned when he seems to named in the best every week...

i ask this because i am a country boy and the best of the VCFL are playing against the best from the VAFA C-D4 sections in a couple of weeks and have been looking at some of the players that our boys may play against

thanks in advance

Cant tell you much, but i think its pretty blieden obvious that the kid can play!

Equality: No club gets this right. You have your opinion and would prefer you PM examples of your concerns. My opinion is the exact opposite. You know i have two sons playing and IMO are treated no differently to anyone. No coach is perfect, if you look for things you will generally find something. We have built a strong club in a short time because the spirit of intent has been where it has needed to be and there has been a strong junior program that has set precedents in equality throughout football in Victoria.

Thanks for your answers. I'll take them on board.

Blieden is a gun but sometimes does go unnoticed because of the other names you mentioned. However, if his form continues teams will have to start looking out for him as he has been in damaging form! Although, i suspect the arrogant boys down at Hampton won't take notice of anyone this week. 7 and 0 is a great start but i can't wait to see their faces as they walk off this week after their first loss. They're way ahead of themselves (as people on this forum have proved) and are ripe for the pickings. The Jackas will be outright 2nd after this weekend by a mile and within striking distance of Hampton. After our poor start we are ready to pounce and go one better than 2006.

I'll have to disagree with you there Yosi. You will still be equal 2nd after we beat Monash & Oakleigh likely to beat Mazenod. So no you won't be 2nd by a mile.

Well you two have to get through those games first. And with the confidence we will have after just knocking off the undefeated side, the teams in 3rd and 4th will think they're out of reach of us.
We are the most talented side in C section this year.

And you say Hampton are arrogant...

I'm with you Scribe. This Yossi dude seems to be some sort of imposter. Got to give it to him though, he knows how to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I, like other posters, thought he had ridden off into the west. Wishful thinking. In answer to the question of this Bleiden character, George Voyage is very keen on him and I am led to believe he will be invited to join the Vic squad. His nick name at Dragons was Bulldog. Gary Colling used to say "let the Bullgod loose". Heard that the Jackas are waiting on the return of the Mad Russian, who ever that is and I was told a guy by the name of the Schreck is back. I think that is the monster that looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

Groundsman If you are who I think you are, you have no idea of the Schreck..He is Tarzan ..looks like him and plays like him and next to Dukes, he will destroy C Grade [once fit.]..
Also heard a talented Bloom kid is returning to Ajax..he has been flying high in Albury, but down to earth and back at Ajax.
If Ajax can get Schreck, Bloom, Klein and Routman back in the coming weeks they wil be a lot stronger than last year and without injuries will push Hampton in the run home to the finals.
Have a gut Shabbos..

you ajax boys talking about all your guns coming back and that you will be unstoppable and too good for C-grade, well not to say too much but you will be in for a shock this week if you think you will just wonder in and walk away with the 4 points.

it will be a great game and hopefully close, but a team doesnt start 7-0 for no reason and with some very handy ins this week, hampton will only be stronger.

Is 'Screck' Dean Rechsta ? or another bloke. If it's him then he is big, but a basketballer, not that flash a footballer. Very disapointing after being spruiked last year

Bloom is a very good player and so is Routman.

Any team would want to play the Jackas in a GF. A guaranteed win. Got the guns as mentioned but no heart Jackasses

we are ready to pounce and go one better than 2006.

Ouch!!! I hope you mean more than that... If we go 1 better than 2006, then dosn't that mean a DRAW... oh dear.

Then we'll have to go through it all for another week... I just hope my osteo pub's hold out. Ouch.... it hurts.
