Rupo officials actually complained at 3 qtr time about the abuse he was copping from the boundary

Must agree here. I like Rupo, but have seen this guy play a few times and he is a disgrace. The major problem i have is that the Rupo people i have spoken with believe he is looking after their young players and is no worse than players on the opposite side. Both these comments are incorrect. He is a thug and a disgrace. Rupo would be well served to rid themselves of this type. He is only ever seconds away from starting an all in or giving someone a busted jaw. The negatives of a guy like this far out weigh the positives (and this is true even if off field he is a great bloke and fun to have around the club...bla....)

they are an over-rated team at hampton. they used the vfl players cos they knew we were the form side that was going to challenge them. we saw enough to know they will struggle to be competitive against the better teams without the vfl ring-ins. i watched the reserves game and they were a disgrace. mostly a bunch of overweight thugs who didn't know how to play footy and the umpire was the most biased ever seen. no one can ever accuse ajax of being a cheat when that guy was blatantly allowing the thuggery. they belong in those flats over the road. watch them tumble down to earth after the week off without the vfl players.

yeah.. even though rovers have played just about every team w/o the vfl players and are still 8 zip!

btw i dont think ajax are soft. they arent physical but they are hard enough at the ball and dont shirk it

does anyone have a list or link to where i can see the Representative side playing this Saturday.

thanks in regards

Spare me.

and i think we all know there is no need to comment back to this jibber jabber. but just leave this bloke to talk himself up, and others down knowing he is safe behind his keyboard

I'm guessing that Yosi and Goldy are the same person. And I'm also guessing that those people who want to use Yosi and Goldy to further their agendas will do so regardless.

that's a bit insulting. i haven't gone overboard like yosi. and he seems to have gone now, which has been good.

For what it is worth, having played AJAX about 15 times over 18 years, I WOULD NOT class them as soft.

There you go.

thanks dean. good to see you guys going well in d1. i hope they can send you off on a high note this year.

that doesn't make much sense. if we're hard at the ball then we are physical. we were outbodied by a bigger team thanks to your vfl inclusions. as for the comment about dukes being overweight, he's still a gun and will not be beaten in this grade. he showed in patches on saturday he is a class above the rest.

Having been in red hot tipping form, I confidently put forward the following for a bumper Round 8:

AJAX with the best midfield in the comp to defeat the Rovers.

Mazenod to just get over the Oaks, no idea why.

Monash to account for Ormond (who cares who sprayed who last week!!)

Parky at home to get the points over the High.

Friars to beat Rupo (who knows!?)

Have read with some interest (well done lads) the posts re VFL players coming back to play in the VAFA. Have noticed over the journey that these guys who are dropped/released seldom make much of an impact. Not sure whether this is due to their ability level or down to the difficulty in adjusting at late notice to new team-mates, coach, surroundings etc.

If the bye for VFL teams suddenly introduced a heap of guns which changed the whole balance of the comp, I would have problems. I just can't see this happening though. The VFL coaches are not about to let quality players charge around in C Grade. We will always see the guys who are just hanging in, and the system can work on this basis.

Enjoy your day at the footy. Do something nice for the umpires.

Hardly the case. 2 of the boys we had are fringe senior players at Frankston & Sandy.

Due to the hype surrounding the VFL players I ventured down Bluff Rd. The Rovers were awsome and I think I have some answers to their outstanding success today. The VFL hype lived up to its name. Martyn, first game, 7 goals. Corp, first game, 3 goals. Gribbin, first game, 2 goals, thats 12 goals. Wynn, in for his first game and Lyall in for his second. Can't believe Fletcher wasn't named BOG nor Greenwood in their best. Must try and get to the return match.

For the record, Wynn isn't a VFL player. Was dropped by Sandy Dragons. We're more than happy to have him.

Not for mine Jas. He wouldn't (or shouldn't) have figured in Ormond's best 6. A bag of goals but 3 from frees and one cheapy over the top. Took 1-2 good contested marks against an undermanned Monash backline.

Ormond pretty solid after a slow beginning. 7/10.
Monash up and down. Inaccurate and turned it over often. 3/10.
Umpires diabolical. Red card in first quarter a disgrace. Charge will be dropped (again) but the massive penalty inflicted can't be changed. 1/10.

Can someone explain this? It reads as though a Monash player was sent off, but knowing Moose and seeing he was requested to attend the tribunal, I'd be inclined to believe it was he that was red carded/reported.

I think it was Russell who was hit and is required to give evidence.

No Luke Russell was the one hit, pretty weak act by the Monash player.
While we are on Monash, their ressies umpire is 10 times worse than the bloke who does Ajax ressies, this fella after paying a couple of frees to Ormond got abused by his own bench and then proceded to give everything to his own mob.It didn't matter though as the Monds won by 139 points.

Doubtful that Moose would've incited the act.

As I recall in Rd.2 the Monash umpire was a little more bias than your average ressies umpire, but thankfully their reserves side wasn't competitive enough for it to impact on the scoreboard. The Ajax umpire was at it again on the weekend. Their young boundary umpire wanted to make a report against a player for striking. In all the hysteria she'd actually accused the wrong player and when the Ajax players told their central umpire, he red-carded the player and told him he was up on report. No report was made, but the incident proved to be a farce and typified his cheating ways. Also snuffed out any chance of a comeback at 5 goals down early in the last.

I think you'll find our replacement players to come back in the side for the four VFL players will have more impact then those who played on the w.e. I wouldn't rely on our side getting any weaker with the likes of Alexander, Duddy, Mcarthy, Andersen to name a few to come back in. But i'll look forward to your excuse next time.

I hope you people don't read too much into the result on the weekend. Hampton were clearly bolstered by their ring-ins. Perhaps next time we play them we'll get Poyas down to play for us and even it up.
The Rover listed players did very little on the weekend and i look forward to the return match on our home ground with a true representation of each of our Amatuer lists.
I have full faith that the AJAX boys will be holding the premiership cup up high in September. We will bounce back very quickly and i pitty the teams that come up against us over the next few weeks.

Great to have you back Yosi,

your well balanced view of things is always a pleasure to read. (NOT)

Unless Hampton had the whole Sandringham VFL list on the weekend, which they did not, then it was a very poor effort from your boys.

You should concentrate on winning enough games to make the finals before you start talking about flags.

i know this was stated before but hampton were missing 4 blokes in there top 8 players. robbie alexander is the best player at hampton including all those who came from the vfl. butch mccarthy is our number 1 defender, anton duddy is our centre half back and anderson has been missing all season but came third in the d1 b and f last year. had all these 4 players been playing lyall from zebras would have missed out on a game, wynne from dragons would have missed out on a game, and the way corp was played on and off the ground he might have struggled to make the team aswell. so put it in perspective when you think that ajax can turn around 12 goals from a team which is even pretty even with the team we feilded saturday.

who are u guys down at rovers trying to kid? percy, i think yourself and footyguru are obviously trying to downplay the influence of the vfl players and talk up your local stock but it doesnt wash for those who were at the game.

martyn (frankston) corp and gribbin (both sandy) kicked 12 goals between them. footyguru i didnt see corp off the ground once. were u at the game? id say he had about 40 possessions and kicked 3

Martyn is at Sandy and wore number 8 on the weekend for Rovers. Corp is at Frankston and wore number 14 on the weekend and did have a short spell on the pine but would hardly say he was on and off.

Dont get too excited Yosi. Sandringham have another bye next time Ajax and Rovers meet. Sh.t happens.
