mazal, goldy didnt say anything about Hampton supporters language.
and it isnt breaking the rules if the sandy footy club opens the bar.

But I am saying about the Hampton supporter's language ..I heard it ... as did everyone else within 30 metres....
I do not know if Goldy did or did not hear it ... and it is breaking the rules if alchohol is taken out of the bar ..which it was !!!
Any how, I hope it is all calm tomorrow and it it is a great game for all spectators to enjoy...

Look forward to your bag being searched on entry tomorrow (and car, at other grounds). Rumours of a large contingent openly drinking near the scoreboard last week invoked that one.

And besides, I'm planning the trip down there tomorrow to keep an eye on y'all, and rest assured I will be naming and shaming any Bigfooty posters stepping out of line!

It's going to be hot and windy tomorrow, actually I can't really decide to go to Sandringham or stop off at the Wick to see St Bernards get pantsed.

I've been looking forward to today's game all week so lets hope it's played with the same intensity as the previous encounter between these two!

I'm thinking it will be close all day and can't honestly remember two more evenly matched sides battling out for the big one as these two...

with the weather gods providing a perfect forcast lets hope this will be the BLOCKBUSTER we all want!

my tipp is a DRAW at full time! :)

Congratulations to Russell Barnes on getting a terrific team performance out of his players yesterday. They deserved their win! Fantastic effort by Kelleher for the medal. Thought that young Tim Allan was another stand out. Robbins kicked six, but dropped a few and could have kicked another two or thtree easily. Early goal into the breeze wasa gem.
My overall observation was that despite the windy conditions the standard of players was not flash. Ormond looked the more mature side and were better organised. They will need an injection of youth to be competitive in B Section. Rovers on the other hand were a lot younger, but really had no stand out performers. They will need their Sandy players on board to make the step.

Well done Ormond.... Ajax looks forward to renewing our competitive games in the near future...
You are a great Club with lots of tradition, back where you belong...

Big rumour floating around that Assumption college will have a side in the ammos next year, there list consists of 16 vfl players committed to play all of next year and beyond with the side and due to the strength of the list they will start in C or D1

Guys anyone know how the VAFA decide who gets an invite to the various medal presentations?

The highest vote-getter from each club gets an invite, together with 2 or 3 further complimentaries for the senior coach, president, often the captain or another club official at the club's discretion.

(NB: Leading goalkicker will obviously know that they've won, but will also get a complimentary invite).

Surely they would have a min amount of votes requirment as well?

What a great result for district clubs, Ormond are a great provider of footy for kids wanting to play and will reap rewards for their support of the local youth in years to come. Comiserations to the Rovers, they will be a strong club for years also we hope. Great game played in good spirit. "For the love of the game..."

dont worry about Mick. He will be back. Keep punching me old mate, great season for the rovers. 2 great years on the trot. The envy of plenty of C grade sides that have been stuck for nearly a decade.

And give the Hampton Rovers a lot of credit. While disappointing to lose another grand final, it's still a great effort by all at the club to get into B Section in 18 months, especially when you consider at the end of 2006 the Rovers were relegated to D1. How many people at the end of '06 would have predicted the Rovers would be back in B Section in just 2 years? And also, how many people predicted at the start of this season just gone that the Rovers would not only be promoted to B Section for 2009, but finish in the top 2 and play in the grand final (even though the result itself was disappointing)?

Also full credit must be given to both sides for the way the game was played last Saturday. It is a rare sight to see a grand final-no matter what league it is around Australia-played in good spirit. No brawls or behind the play incidents occured which is a credit to both teams and the clubs concerned, and also the VAFA.

Doesn't matter where Uncle Mick is. He has never had a bad word or sledged us so why rub it in.

Great win by us. To get the double 1's & 2's premiership was a great feat. 7 times this has happened in the clubs history. Not many others could say the same.

Cheer boys, cheer we are from ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRMOND!
