I'm reading the local papers with a lot interest. Ex-Rupo boys being lured to the Ballarat League for the oscar ash. These are boys who have been treated well by the club but don't seem to reciprocate when the challenge of C Section looms. A valuable lesson for all clubs. Nurture the whole list and not just the chosen ones. You'll end up with a more sustainable future.

Hear what you're saying Robbo and agree to a point. I can't begrudge young blokes that have played away from the club at a high level setting themselves up in life. I would hope that they would see their way clear to return to the club someday though. I'd also hope that they don't encourage their 'new' clubs to poach some of our talent.

:spade:The players Sunbury signed ex-rupo played a total of 4 games for us in 2009. We will always be disappointed to lose players, and it appears we have and may lose players who would keep the strength of our list very deep. Ruppo are attempting to improve their network and how they can help players, at the end of the day this "Y" generation think very differently to my generation. Generally it is completely and entirely about themselves. (Not Always though).

I have a strong belief in the Amateur side of footy, it is great for young men, i have not been involved in any other senior club, but i think i'd rather go watch keen young mates do battle in a great league than support a club where you always ask, " what are they paying him". I also understand that amateur clubs have to be successful in delivering life assistance and guidance to our players.:confused:

have no probs with people making a few extra $ but hardly think a few hundred bucks a game is "setting themselves up in life"

Rumour is upwards of $20k - hardly a few bucks, particularly in your early 20's... But as KB rightly states, these boys hardly figured in the 09 campaign. Would be very handy inclusions as progress through the ranks though.

Glad to see you have crawled out from under your rock Robbo. Disappointed that once again you are only interested at having a thinly veiled swipe at the club and in particular how you think they treated your son. Instead of whining on here you should be encouraging your young bloke to get down to preseason training and have another go.

On ya Dent. Nothing thinly veiled at all. I wanted to see if there were any bully boys willing to post on behalf of the club. I didn't expect you would be the first one to have a crack as you are not a big hitter for Rupo. Others, on behalf of this club, have accused me of being all sorts of things so living under a rock is not too bad. I get out and around Sunbury most weekends. If you think you know me come up and introduce yourself. I don't bite. I'll even buy the cup of coffee and cake of the day. If you think you know my family it's not hard to find out where I live. Same offer except for the cake, might have to be a chocolate teddy bear.

In future I prefer to talk about things footy, so leave the other observations out because they are tedious to me and uninteresting to the other posters on this forum.

rumours flying out from waterworld is that former st kilda player tim eliot will be making the venture down the south gippsland fwy to the $4.60 hot dog eaters, apparantly he'll be recieving 4 hotdogs and 2 cokes a game which equates to about $15,000 a year.

I know this is hard to answer, but where would you sit C grade Ammo's compared with other leagues for standard.
EG Easter d1-4, northern d1-3.

know some mates who live around one of the clubs in the division who might be interested, but want to play together, preferably senior footy.

just out of interest if anyone can help, cheers guys.

Heard premiership hero and star foward Chris Ligris was returning for the Roys in 2010. Can anyone confirm this?
