He might be a crazy dutch bstd, but he's Mr Consistency in the tipping!

And Beauey were a few goals safe on Rupo from what I read. Of course that's what about 3 consecutive teams could have said about their 3/4 time scores v Rupo.

Mobby, according to an official minute issued by the mayor of beaumaris, jack Coleman, the abbreviated form of beaumaris should be spelt, Beauy.

Yes, it does look like I'm tanking!

In truth, I am very glad I am not a gambler. I have no real sensibility check for such a thing. I have ALWAYS been close to last in EVERY tipping comp I've ever entered, even the ones without Fitzroy playing!

Geez I'm crap at this even when I try!

For this week:

Beaumaris v Ormond - Going with the home side as neither teams are flying at the minute.
Old Geelong v Rupertswood - OG's haven't done that well at Como this year and Ruppo are ticking along nicely.
Ajax v Caulfield - Too good.
Parkdale v Mazenod - The Nodders are struggling a little, but they will be way too good for the Vultures.
Fitzroy v Old Camberwell - They let me down last week but I will stay with the Wellers for one more week.

Keano - not disagreeing with your tips this week, but just not sure of your thinking. How are Rupo ticking along nicely when they just lost at home to Beauy, yet Beauy, who are 6-1 are not clear favourites at home against Ormond.
And yes, using the word "flying" might be an overstatement for the Sharks, but you can't do much more than win 6-1.
Anyway, have a good week.

This is probably due to where I thought each side would be. Ruppo are doing better than I expected, I would never have expected them to beat the Sharks. So a 5 point loss is acceptable.

The Sharks are 6-1, which is of course a strong result and I would also imagine they will turn the half way mark at 8-1, considering they will beat Ormond and should easily account for Old Geelong. But based on their performance against the Fields, the only game I have seen, I thought they didn't look as strong as last year. But the season is still young and we haven't got to the important bit. Caulfield can win all the games they like now, the only thing that matters is A) Promotion and B) A Premiership, and they failed at that last year!

To the family, friends and all at Rupertswood, I can only express my condolensces at the sudden passing of Stephen.I know many within the Ammo community will share the sentiments. Far too young to lose such a fine young man.

Echo the sentiments of the above poster. Condolences to the youngster's family & all concerned at Rupo. A real tragedy to be taken so young. Fantastic to see the Rupo Ressies rally & record a win for their team mate & friend. Well done. Puts some of the bullsh*t written on this site into perspective. Cheers to all at Rupo KB, always a pleasure to compete against your club.

'ammo man' as you call yourself, you have your wish along with GECC and OCC there will be no going back to the Gunn this season.

Whoa there angry little man. Thank God M.M and G.R post here because your belligerence gives the club a bad name. Every time you're proven wrong you have a cheap whack at the other person.

Firstly, I'd love the club to be playing back at Gunn now. I just understand why the council wouldn't want risk a $650k major project for the sake of 2 or 3 footy games. It's pretty basic common sense. Secondly, the only person I know at the cricket club is a former Ormond footballer and I agree the C.C seems from the outside pretty much direction less. Thirdly, I have nothing to do with the council. I don't even live in the municipality any longer. My comments were based on basic commonsense. Someone close to the action at the club told me the council informed the club way back that the reconstruction of Gunn was a major undertaking. The cost was huge and they couldn't afford a stuff-up by allowing competitive sport before October. That position never changed and the people in the know knew that to be the case. The movers and shakers around the club and the players new it and accepted it .

Stick to the facts and show some humility when you're wrong.

Thanks, if one thing i know in life is how much my mum loved me unconditionally, and when Steve's Mum arrived on Saturday the club was about to embark on a day the club will remember forever. With 30 seconds to play our game record holder and Club Legend Sangers, kicked the winning goal. We had some luck, no doubt, many things were on our side. We sang the song with Steve's Mum and sister in the middle, a moment all of us will never forget at Ruppo. Many thanks to Beauyyy, they were incredible and in some ways i think they were happy the ressies had a win.

In a very difficult time there have been some amazing people who have been incredible, thank you to the Ruppo footy club and the whole VAFA community

What am i wrong about, the council stuffed up by not starting the project in October as footy finished on the 29th of August.
Someone close to the action told you, do you believe everyone.
Fact, every ground they renovate the clubs are told they will be out for the season as were Murrumbeena and they were back in June. Murrumbeena was a deep excavation compared to what happened at the Gunn. It doesn't matter how much it cost its the depth of the project. Fact, the Gunn cost more due to the new wiz bang irrigation system that has been put in.
Nothing angry mate, just common sence should have been used by starting the project earlier. Back to the footy, good to get a win on the weekend against a very dogged opponent in Fitzroy. We had another fade out in the third term, but did enough in the last to get home.
Coming soon to the Footy show will be the specy by Tim Allen, which might be his third time on there, not bad for a still U/19.
Condolences to KB and all at Rupo on your loss.

Agree KB.
Beaumaris is a quality outfit both on and off the field as are Therry Penola who our 18s played earlier in the day. Some of our senior guys described it as the most incredible game they have participated in even surpassing winning grand finals. The raw emotion in the rooms after the game was like nothing I have experienced and you did a fine job of marshalling the troops on such a difficult day.

When the news filtered through to us on Saturday (Steve played cricket with a couple of our lads), we were all shocked and terribly sorry to hear of his passing. For the club to respond, particularly given most of the players would've been by his side when he collapsed on Thursday, in such a manner is a testament to Ruperstwood and a fine tribute to a young man taken far too early.

Our thoughts go out to his family and I have no doubt that Rupo's season 2010 will rightfully be played in his memory for the remainder of the year.

It seriously puts everything we banter on about here in true perspective.

Ditto KB & Dent's sentiments. Sincere thanks to Therry & Beaumaris, the VAFA community, and in particular to the Rupo Footy Family. It's times like these when you realise just how damn special people and footy clubs really are.

Nowhere near as big, bedford. This is a major reconstruction and cost triple what they spent at Murrumbeena. The Council wants to make certain the grass is properly settled before it is used for active sport. Imagine the outcry from residents if a $650k project failed due to permitting premature use. They've tried many times to get the surface of Gunn right let's hope they've got it right this time.

Are you talking the ground size? Because Beena was a bigger job. The ground had a drip system put throughout and some kind of "leveling" was done (although it's still got a few dips). The footy club were not meant to play so early but the council changed their minds.

Ending up being a great decision as having people run around on it made it take quicker although it wasn't quite up to the standard you want to play footy on.

as a part of the losing beauy reserves side on saturday, obviously i was devestated when the siren went losing, when really, had the game in controll for 110 minutes. but as rupo were walking off i could only smile and turn to our coach and say, "atleast they won". a great effort by rupo to play under those circumstances.

pour it on sharks, its feeding time

As a supporter and previous player of a A/B grade club who has never played against you, i echo your thoughts and my heart goes out to his family and friends.

In times like these its important to remember why we play and/or run amo clubs - we play/help out our mates and mates are forever.

Sympathy to all those touched.
