Pretty safe to say the bottom 2 are set and Old Camberwell have a firm grip on 4th. Great effort by Mazenod to knock off AJAX and Caulfield two weeks in a row.

Interesting scenes at Brunswick Street today with the visiting coach unleashing an expletive ridden halftime spray at his team behind the grandstand which seemed to have the opposite of the desired effect. They never seemed in the contest and are certainly at rock bottom now, but I doubt calling your players soft c*nts is going to lift them to great heights!

As an occasional spectator at the Ammos I was totally bemused by the antics of that coach as were about 50 others just the other side of the fence in the bowling club. Not a good advertisement for the footy club or the comp! Pity because the og boys were very gracious and well-behaved at the get-together after the game.

Hello c grade fans, I have been following all games this year and seen some quality players from all teams. A few standouts in my opinion were Tim Allan from ormond very good mover who has good skills, Garreth Phillips From rupo is another one, looks very polished and is super quick midfielder , sleivson from caufield and duke from camberwell have all impressesed me as an onlooker. any thoughts???

Hey Barlow, you've named just a couple of Prem C's solid performers this year; got me thinking now about the TOTY which isn't too far away really. Great to get some others thoughts on this too...

Been a beauy fan this year and following alot of their moves like attending nearly every match and watching there traininig sessions and theres has been a few standouts

Matt Petering: Playing a new role this year which has paid off huge dividends for the sharks and also in a nice position in the sharp shooters leaderboard. Had a massvie pre season with extra muscle and his trip to jamaica for a session with Usain bolt has been able to give him great bursts of speeds over 100 metres. Unlucky to miss out on a jumper in the representative sides.

Mark "doug" Ensor: This benjamin button story of 2010 without a doubt. Playing out of his comfort zone this year and the silky defender has mastered it perfectly. Predicting the Macgeorge medalist will be the club champion for a 2nd time(pardon me if im wrong) in his illustrous career and a good roughie for league champion.
Other players which could give the selectors headaches:
A.Bennet
C. Germano
M.Duggan
B.Haynes
T.dean

All the best

Baz

Must be a big chance to take out the Section B & F. Playing in a team that has lacked success might work against him though.

Kelleher is a major vote puller as we all know, has completely won me over though, a great player. Might take a few away. Where's Miller??? We would all like at Rupo to see Gags poll well, to our surprise polled average compared to the the year he had last year, so who knows what the umpires think. Tim Allan, Slevison and Dukes are all great players.

Millsy retired. Digger has been serviceable. But you're right, who knows what goes through umpires minds.

after last weeks discussions & we are getting to the end of the H & A and a lot of the sides years are set,

I would like to know how guys through their clubs went / are travelling , did they meet expectation or did they dissapoint or play above what you thought ,

would be interested to hear from monderman/ gunn reserve/bedford / scribe/ KB / Robbo / and anyone else who cares

a few others will take votes off Gags, those being Gaunt, Rush and Gay. and don't forget the heart and soul of RUPO - j, plummer. I would think the Rupo people would like to see all the boys poll well :thumbsu:

I think we are well below what we set out to achieve this season. We genuinely expected to be in the mix for finals or there abouts. We are no where near that at the moment. We do have a very young side in saying that so if we can keep them together next season & beyond then we will be going ok.

We have shown throughout games this year that we can match it with the better sides, so once we get some consistancy in our game then the wins will flow. Next year we expect to get back some experienced players (O/S, injuries) so that will help a fair bit in the midfield.

Before the start of the season, I'd say our realistic aim was to play competitively each week and aim to finish mid-table. Right now, that seems to be pretty much how things have panned out.

Few really expected us to be able to challenge the likes of Caulfield and Beaumaris, and to run one of those close and be able to knock one off is a great result.

Obviously, with 4 games to go, we could end up with somewhere between 5 and 9 wins for the season. I think it'll be 7, maybe 8.

Given we were 1-8 at the turn, to finish 6-3 or 7-2 would be a great boost for an improved effort in 2011. The juniors coming through are pretty handy, and a few bigger fellas are in the next graduating U19 squad.

Having the majority of the senior sides being ex-FFC juniors will ensure great continuity in the playing group and will assist in preventing players from drifting off into the NFL/EDFL chasing coin.

In summary, a slow start, with lack of KPP a problem, overcome through great midfield effort, and the results of our hard work have started to come now we've structured up with tall players returning. Our B&F would be a coin toss between Chris Polidoras and Patty O'Connor. Both should make the TOTY. Doubt anyone else would.

From a Caulfield perspective I think the boys have done what was expected. Top of the pile with 4 games to go, it is tough to ask much more. However like Beauy & Ajax our season will be measured on finals performances.

As for TOTY nominations I would say Sheetz, Perkins & Carboni are definates, maybes for O'Sullivan and Hyland.

Don't forget Collo, has been the heart and soul for longer than anyone and can poll pretty well. Congrats to DC and Nicole on a healthy baby girl born just today.

I'm speaking for myself here, but Ruppo would be a 6/10 this year to this stage. Could have been better, could have been worse. We have played some exhilarating quarters with some very ordinary ones. We would need to hold onto our current group, all of the u18 boys and pick up some ex-players out of retirement to improve our depth, which at this point is concerning given our reserves results this year.

Ajax v Beaumaris - The Sharks should get this done, although I'd be worried about the Jackas on the rebound after they got rolled on their own turf last week.
Parkdale v Ormond - The Vultures will seize this opportunity for win No.2 against the Monders who don't have much to play for.
Caulfield v Old Geelong - Reckon this will be over by quarter time.
Old Camberwell v Fitzroy - The Wellers are starting to build towards the finals and will do this easily.
Rupertswood v Mazenod - Great win by the Nodders last week and despite Rupo being handy at home the more seasoned side will get up.

For any old Camberwellians who can't make the match tomorrow but will be sitting at home wishing they knew what was going on (and for Roys fans who aren't aware of this) I have been attempting to compile scores updates from all the Roys matches this year, and post them to Bigfooty on relevant match threads in the Fitzroy board. You're welcome to track scores updates there. Of course, please understand its for entirely parochial purposes and you'll have to put up with extremely biassed one-sided commentary :D ... I am not very good at concealing it!

The scores come from txts from those at the games, and from whatever gets sent to the VAFA live scores feed. I update that thread, update a Facebook page for Roys fans, and also tweet any info that the VAFA aren't already reporting back to their Live Scores.

I could also post the updates here on the VAFA C thread as well, but figured its kind of overkill, so all my Bigfooty scores updating will go on the below thread.

So welcome to the tekanolodgekal era :)
