Steve Spider Kennedy is the new Parkdale Vultures coach.

Interesting decision. Coach Sandy u/18's last two years and coached Cheltenham in SFL the year before that.

Think Steve played for the Vultures ( St Pats Mentone ) in the Mid 80s for a while, so not that much of an interesting decision given his history.

Why would they change coach? Since the current coach took on the job the boys have played in two Grand finals and finished 3rd this year. OK they haven't won a flag but they have raced through the grades and are looking good for a flag next year.

This sounds personal mate... Are you an ex-rooter?
my point of discussion was in no way intended to ruffle any feathers at Rupurtswood. If I am wrong and he goes on then thats great for the him and the club, it was just a comment overheard that he didn't have the time to continue, that's all. If I was wrong in putting this out there on an open forum, then I apologise. .............. think I will go to my closest now.

Here's my Round 1 suggestions:

HAMPTON ROVERS V AJAX
OAKLEIGH V RUPERTSWOOD
ORMOND V PARKDALE
MONASH V MHSOB
WHITEFRIARS V MAZENOD

I would think 99% of coaches wrestle with work and family issues . The "great man" Tony West retired from coaching for work reasons. Smacka has a demanding job as would most successful coaches, they are generally intelligent, except the one who rolls around in the twos and is as sharp as a bowling ball. (Same shape too!!!)

the title of this thread is " c" - section ammo's 2007.

jas, here is your first chance to start not only a new thread but why not have you first poll for 2008 as ask who will infact be the biggest improver, biggest dissapointment and the who will win the big one in c section ?

ajax with their un finished business to get over the rupo train for mine.

Rupo's kids will be a year older and a year stronger, add in a baddley and one or two others and they will only be stronger.

Ajax's veterans wil be a year older and a year softer in the middle, with little coming from the unders.

Cant see them challenging, even with their pride at stake. Rupo to win , but keep Ormond and Mazenod safe. Oakleigh smokies, MHSOB sliding, sliding, sliding. big improvers.. hmm Ormond.

If he decides to step down, that's a different issue but there is no way the club would make him.

On another issue... Has Rupo had any luck in chasing Ben Jordan? I know they have a crack every year...

Although MHSOB have dropped down a grade this year, and performed so poorly, i think that they will definitely consolidate their spot in c grade. The club has adopted a youth policy, with 5-6 of the players being eligible to play 19's last year. So I'm tipping a mid table finish.

Expect a major improvement from Ormond next year. With Millsy returning from injury, Robbins family (Matt, Dave & Brendan) & an early indication from an ex-Kangaroo, could shake a few feathers in C grade next year...

It is definitely Wayne Schimmmelbushca, he is still fit enough, Alo Saints fan will never spell it right and Jack Mihocheck will sort the whole thing out for everybody.

B+F Cross
Runner up Bayford
Coaches Award Hendrie
Most consistent Durling
Most Improved Bonahady
Most determined McGuigan
Best Finals Player Mitchell

A good set IMHO.

Other news is that premiership coach Paul O'Shaneesey has told the club that he will not continue in 2008,so the scramble will begin for what, on the surface, appears to be a pretty good coaching gig .

Good news to see the 'Polar Bear' and the 'Kenyan' at the function, both mad keen to start again in '08.The 'Kenyan' in particular looked very forward as he and Blinky tripped the light fantastic, whilst the big Polar Bear enjoyed the excellent food, demolishing an entire swordfish and 6 squid during the evening.

Rupertswood B&F 2007

Ryan Monzell claimed his first Quinn Medal last night in a wonderful count

Kingbrowns two boys filled the 2nd & 3rd possies ( justin 2nd, gareth 3rd )

Congratulations to all award winners.
