Dont believe all of the hype re Camberwell just yet. I am surprised not much has been said of John Barker's signing with North Old Boys St Patricks College Ballarat Old Boys Football Club incorporated.
Will the big man be boom or bust?

Sausage Roll at the Gillon we prefer to keep a low profile rather than spending our days posting on Big Footy (except for our club's media spokesman Alphonse) making up stories and stirring the pot. Who am I to spread the rumour that Joe Barker will be coming out of retirement to play with his two brothers...

Actually sorry, what I meant to say was "No comment, all NOBSPC related inquiries should be directed towards Alphonse", who with his journalistic background is responsible for all press releases.

1st Never write off Rupo, that is unless you want to inspire them

2nd Friars and Vultures like Carey are keeping very low key, unlike our friends from the Reds who talk alot, they (reds) better start the year off very well or they will loose all respect
3rd. No one will ever consider oldcamb a threat. They have been stuck in C grade for so long for one reason. They are soft, mentally. Never has there been a bigger bunch of girls with potential but no strong minds down there to drive them. No matter how strong there list is there soft culture will retart them from ever going up the grades. they know it, we all know it, just how it is!

From what I hear is that Rupo have had good numbers at training , word is they are a very complacent and think it is just going to happen for them this year with little effort. Its a big step they have made into C Grade, but they have to change their approach from here on in, to ensure they dont finish at the bottom.

At Rupo we have included complacent in our values since our inception. Complacency at times can be mistaken for having fun, it can be mistaken for being cool and relaxed. Why go into a season tense and hyped, why join the hype of being a finals definite.

To propogate such ridiculous things is a slap in the face to the new President of OCGFC and their board. He and the board have poured hundreds of hours into the club over the summer to give it its best chance of promotion. If you reveal your identity when your club plays OC maybe you can personally pass on your thoughts to him with all your evidence?

It would seem your anger is misplaced jealousy why don't you start by taking the time you spend posting crap on bigfooty and putting it into your club.

Think about what you are saying. To pay the players at OC what they are worth would cost the club 1000s and 1000s of dollars a week. At OC the players have to pay their own subs for god sakes.

What you are saying is not only false but also so impossible it makes you look frightfully stupid.

Negative rumourmongering will always be removed when noticed. Persistent negative rumourmongers will also be removed.

OC just about top my list of most hated Ammo's clubs. However I must agree that the ridiculous stories posted on this site about them is a disgrace. We all love a good rumour, but to peddle such serious accusations without any form of proof is below the belt.

Agreed. How many games are you goung to get out of Johnny Barker? He and his brother will be a fair combination up forward and will make you pretty potent.
Wouldn't say nobs, cobs, lobs or whatever you are calling yourselves this week would top too mnay lists in a popularity poll either!

Dunno how many games John will play, we aren't relying on that so it's not something we are hanging on, though it's clear there is an obvious buzz on the track when he's training. No doubt he'll be a handful side by side with Mick. And with the NOBs/St.Pat's alliance growing stronger every today, it's a promising future at the Gillon after two bleak years. All we need now is for Alphonse to return.

As for popularity polls, whilst it's not something you're in football for, I'd like to think the COBs would at least be respected by most of our foes.

back on to real matters is there any more word on whether the year is going to start on time?

The SFL have announced today that their season start will be delayed by two weeks, starting April 28.

The means that 3 leagues (SFL, MPNFL and Diamond Valley) have all announced delays.

From what I know, AFL Victoria was very keen for all leagues to remain united on decisions about start dates etc, and I do know that the VAFA have constantly been meeting with Councils (as have the SFL), so perhaps a decision or announcement may come soon, if anything is to change that is.

As far as it stands at the moment, April 14 is round 1.

From what I can gather John Barker is available for about 10 games. If StKilda are playing on a Sat. He is unav. Fri and Sun games in melb are fine and interstate depends on whether he is required to travel. Also heard he will be more than likely playing CHB which would be great to watch if he drifted back to Loats.

Not bad Sausage! Except of course you need to put the Reds on top and move the others down a spot. Reds and Friars to play off, as I have been saying for months. Heard all the OC rumours before and they haven't delivered,
That is assuming we even play at all, given the mail I have that there will be no season( read drought thread!).

Actually agree with you HCoach but still wouldn't mind seeing the game cause I don't think NOBS midfield can stop Loats and Barker having about 20 to 30 one-on-one duals.

With Rawlins, Davis and Cahill (what the?) all training regularly, I think there are 3 good options for the captaincy there already. Haven't spoken to Vinnie about what he's doing / where he's going, but the fact that he's coming to train (off-site mind you) is a good sign.

Not my call anyhow, as it's up to Mausy and possibly Harro to make that appointment. Suffice to say, there's enough candidates working hard to ensure whomever is chosen will have earnt it through hard work.
