Ormond senior football club: 16 goals 42 behinds between there seniors and reserves, Gunny what was it like??????
Yeah interesting... Poor conversion, thinking the wind will do it for them just having stupid shots from too far out. Could think of a million reasons.

Congrats to Mazenod, looked very good out there on Sat, will cause some headaches for whoever they play in the 1st semi!

Mazenod 8-0, 13 goalkickers from there 17 goals, 35 scoring shots against an in form Ormond, clearly are in the mix big time. Obviously have an even contribution over there whole side. Heppell was the quarterback against us, set up there whole game, is very important to OC2, but OC1 can claim strong favoritism for the flag. They would feel a huge under achievement if they did not win it.

Whoever they play? Surely it is obvious they play Carey. short of Monash smashing rupo and and carey doing likewise, it really can't change.

Huge weeks for the Reds. What a disappointment Saturday was, with the game there for the taking.

I wonder how the sacked coach is feeling right now watching them slide to D Grade?

Agree Kingbrown. Would be a huge upset if Camberwell didn't win. At full strength they are a 10 goal better side than anyone else.
Rupo vs Carey/Mazenod in the Preliminary final will be huge. Dont think a flag is a chance, but nothing wrong with promotion. Dont know much about Mazenods list, but both Carey and Rupo would do well in B-Grade if they can make it. Good kids coming through and very young overall. Agree that Mazenods second half of the year has been awesome. Will be interested to see what both they and Carey throw up next week in the finals preview match. Fancy if Carey win at Mazenod and then play at full strength against them in the 1st final, they will prevail. But if Mazenod touch them up at home, perhaps thay can go on with it. I'm sure Mazenod would appeal more as finals opponent to Rupo than Old Carey would. Cant see Reds defeating anyone next week, particularly away at Friars. Coach leaving was either going to galvanise or completely bust season 07. It has gone the bust way and they will be towelled up next week. Hard to believe a club that was so dominant in D-Grade in 2005 and seemed to be going places, will be back there in 2008. Massive regroup needed. Also hard to believe that NOBS are going to D. Been 42 years since they were down that low. A huge club in the past. I remember the flag they won in 82 in A-Grade. Not sure how many years they played A-Grade, but through the 70's, 80's and 90's they were basically a permanant fixture.
Here's hoping both sides can regroup and start the climb again.

All is not lost for the Reds. Atleast they will be able to battle it out for the famous RED/NOB cup in D grade next year!!

Wow, what a backflip!!
Last week King you were tipping the OC2 over the OC1? Remember?

They (OC1)won without both heppels playing and jogga missing as well, so I wouldn't get carried away with bold predictions, although it is a nice little ploy to try and put pressure on the oc1.
They ( oc1) have lost to all the other three in the four, so it is wide open for mine.
With Rupo having been on top for 12 or so weeks, one could argue they would have "underachieved" if they don't win? The wide expanses of Coburg will suit them down to the ground.
I wonder how many OC games monkey has actually watched!

Plenty from both clubs over the years Sausage. Don't get paranoid with me. I am not jostling for any gamesmanship here. Telling it how it is. Nobody of any importance at any clubs minus KB, you and Brian take any notice of our ramblings. Admitting that seasoned champs like Tallis, Hilton, Chard, Gabe, Berengar and co have it over the kids of Rupo this year really is not hard to do. Mind you those kids are going to be very speacial in years to come. I dont think anyone other than yourself will see these kids as underachievers if they do not win a flag. The bigger and experienced bodies of the two OC's showed them up recently, and as much as Coburg will suit them, your Camberwell has them very well covered at present.

Dont know how the sacked coach is feeling, but why wasnt p.harris put in charge seeing that he was assistant coach before the sacking occured ??

Dont know how the sacked coach is feeling
He resigned, was not sacked. He was simply asked not to continue the job for the last 4 weeks. There's a school of thought out there that suggests the club was flying, and then the coach was sensationally sacked. The Reds have been ordinary for most of the year, and if you have a look at the results, there are more than a few games where the team was right in it, and then the opposition got a run on and nothing was done to stop it. Perhaps he simply wasn't such a good coach after all anyway.

Having spoken to a few people in the know, he was not asked to coach because he is too valuable on the field. That is entirely true, he is a gun and from what the Scribe has said in the past, he hadn't coached before anyway. Why would you burden your best rover with coaching when he has more of a chance of helping the club by concentrating on playing.

Interesting that you still didn't answer my question Monkey!

One could reasonably argue that Carey's four Afl( heppel times two, holland and white) players plus their A grade guns parton, wigney, ross, wilcox, etc are equally, is not better equiped than OC1?

As I said, the wide expanses of Coburg will suit Rupo very, very well.

my question?

Paul, don't let me down, you need to beat Sebire and the boy's and my predicition will be true,Wellers to finish top as I predicited...............Old Camberwell for B Grade.................

Now "Suas or Saus" as you have been affectionately nicknamed by your admirers the ape man, zoofest and chillie dog, can't you see that i don't tip, i have no idea. Heppell is worth 5 goals to that side. Old Camb have an impassable back line, mid field rotations all over the place, a potent forward line and an interchange bench that would be stars at other "C" Grade clubs. They have mature bodies and have proved to be the side to beat. Whatever Rupo achieves the club will stay proud of a group of young players who have exceeded expections. We have nothing to lose. OC1 I'm not so sure.

Sorry Sausage i thought i had. You asked - I wonder how many OC games Monkey has actually watched? I answered - Plenty from both over the years, as i was unsure which of the OC's you were talking about. I am a big fan of all those Carey players you mentioned and agree they are equipped to do some serious damage if they click on the day. Simple truth is that they will finish 3rd and do very well to get over Mazenod and Rupo to gain promotion. I take it you think i am trying to put pressure on Camberwell by saying that they have great players. Put simply i think the Old Camberwell list is clearly superior to all others and they will win both finals comfortably. I tipped them last week to win by 46 points and i wasnt far off. Yes the wide expanses of Coburg will be good for Rupo, but i expect Camberwell to win and win well. Nothing wrong with that, and this is not being disrespectful to Rupo, as they are a club that will continue to get better as the side grows and as i said will be able to jump up to B Section easily. I'm not sure guys like Tallis and Hilton will be there to push Camberwell up to A, but i think everyone connected with the Ammos can see Rupo playing in A-Grade within the next 3-5 years. Almost a certainly.

We agree that heppell was a significant out and add the 5 goals he is worth and it is game on!

Rupo didn't seem to have too much trouble passing the "impassable" backline when they kicked 22 goals against OC1 and towelled them up!!

Thanks Monkey. not a bad summary. Given the list of the two OC's has changed signiifcantly this year, how many of either of their games have you seen THIS year?

None.

Na, only joking. Seen a few from both. But.....i have watched Nick Holland, Tallis and Rory on the TV before. And have seen Chard when he ran around in Brians other loves jumper. Have watched plenty of all the ex Old Scotchies, have seen Gabe over the years and drank a beer with the odd identity from your camp. I think i have a reasonable formline on the lists. Would love to have seen more, but perhaps to your suprise, i have other roles to play when it comes to Ammos footy that can take up some serious time.

Thats their real name, they jumped on the Fitzroy bandwagon a couple of years ago.:D

It was a definite sledge ! (not aimed at you mobbs) Uni reds were a perenial low grade club known more for their social activities than footy talent.

Fitzroy Reds are the biggest spruiked club on this site (not by you mobbs) and thier former, oops current, coach publicly sporuiked they would be in A grade within 5 years.

Doesn't seem that will happen...

Leave me out of this please Monkey, sounds like you and Sausage need to chat on IM!!!;)

Self evident BS SR - Why would you post on all the other threads & sausage as well (link?) - Just keen for him to answer the question! Strange why you think this is odd (stranger still why you try to defend unless ... ).

Sorry if this is a bit high powered for you way up here. Perhaps you could ask him to pop down to "G Section" for a while.

Sausage doesn't answer questions from newbies who have just joined , probably as their second id.

Happy to answer your question when you are not a "newbie"

Old Camberwell has done what no other club has been able to achieve and that is to get around the so called Amo's creed and recruit players who could easily command $1000 a game if not more. I am sure a side like Vermont or Greenvale would love to talk to Tallis, Hilton and co as they are flushed with funds. Having said that they are a shoe in for the flag as they just have too much talent on and off the ground. Better still why doesnt VAFA just give it to them as it is a mere formality. OC why dont you be fair and give sides a 10 goal start. A bit like sharing the jobs around.

What a crap post. Get around the Ammos creed and recruit players who could easily command $1000 a game if not more elsewhere??
There are hundreds of players playing Ammos that could make 1000 elsewhere. Many choose not to. You must not have watched much Ammos. Cant remeber Greig kicking to many bags of 8-10 when he ran around at Trinity.
