Bad luck KB.

A brave effort from all concerned at your club this year.

Gotta love monkey, he has gone from Loats "certain" to play last week to 90/10!

We both know he is playing. I do the 90/10 thing just to put a little bit of doubt into the heads of those readers who are not "in the know"
I'm looking forward to watching him strutt his stuff. But i still must add that it is a curly one. OC1 have been solid up forward without him and i have seen a big gun FF brought back before and have seen it fail miserably. The hands..the timing..are out. Players look for him. Other avenues forward that got the team to where they are, no longer prosper. A massive pear appears. But fortunately i have faith in the coaching staff to get things right. BIG GAME!

quick post...rumour has it holland and parton have both pulled up very sore after thursdays training run...not loooking good for them today

Blinky, Both Carey and Camberwell coaching staff have asked me to try and organise to have you watch training at both camps this week and report back whose looking sore. They will then assign there best taggers and stoppers on those nominated!:D

Didn't Brian Taylors son kick the winning goal?
I saw BT there, but as i only went to watch Ormond I unfortunatly missed out on what sounds like a very entertaining game of football!
Next week at Trevor Barker sounds like a big clash, for both the senoirs and reserves.
Bad luck Rupo, to go out in straight sets in both Seniors and Resevers must be a killer. Just goes to show experience in the higher grades pays in finals footy.
Is the Loatenator back next week?
It may well be the difference next week!

Bad luck to Rupo. I imagine it must hurt being oh so close to B Grade. However I do believe that this is still a pretty good result for Rupo. Another year in C grade certainly won't hurt. It gives the young fellas another year under their belt. They will be more mature and much stronger next year. And will go into the 2008 season as raging hot premiership favourites! With the age of their list they will be a VAFA powehouse over the next 6 years and I have no doubt will be competing in A Grade by 2011.

KB can you confirm or deny rumors of signings for next year?
Jesse Smith & Simon Clarke returning from the SANFL.
Ben & Dan Jordan from East Point. I reckon it would be hard to get Dan. Have heard they will go after Ben as a playing assistant coach.
Lucas Feilding from St Bernards.

Simon is actually with Sunbury and is a VFL listed player with Geelong.

old camberwell in a canter this week. think that having the week off can only help and they are by far the better team of the two old c's. old carey were fantastic last week but that could of been their grand final. going up successive grades is a good effort but to win 3 big final games on the trot will be a massive effort in 13 days. old camberwell have too many stars and if loats does play too much firepower.

Goodluck to Paul and his men this week.........Old Camberwell to win and win well...........noticed the Blacks went to A Grade........Paul goodluck with your interviews at Punt Road...........A coaches coaches............

Not sure about the canter BB. They will go in as favourites and rightly so with the rested top shelf list they have. However if Carey pull up ok and have 22 fully fit players that are in the best 25-26 at the club, then they are a shot.
It has been confirmed that the Loatenator will play. Himself and Chardonnay are the keys to the game. Chard is a very difficult match up. Just who will Carey decide to play on him. I hear Mr. Parker has been groomed for the task, with big Trumbull being set for the Loater.
OC1 will also have to match up well on the Carey key forwards.
IMO the game will be won in the guts. The fresher legs of the Camberwell boys will be crucial here. It will be a rip snorting affair, and at present (until my spies send in the team lists on Thursday evening) i will tip Camberwell by a sausage roll or two!

Camberwell will smash Ormond in the two's. Good effort by Ormond to win 2 finals, however Camberwell are primed for this one and will have more than a few handy senior experienced players running around. The Wellers by 42 points in the magoos.

From the horses mouth i know for a fact that Loats will not play. Dislocated shoulder and six weeks and not responding to physio as planned would be too much of a risk. While i dont doubt that Camberwell have stars its takes 22 to win a flag. The prelim was one of the best games ive seen all year and I would expect Old Carey to be right in it.
Congrats to both teams extra time might be needed.

5/5
And i even knew it would be a closey. Well done Carey. Shattering i'm sure for Rupo. Any detailed reports would be appreciated. I was unable to make it. Why were Carey lucky? Who was up at the breaks? The website didnt show scores.
Will big Loats grace the beachside turf next Saturday? I have heard he is 90/10. Another ripping contest awaits. Early prediction for me is a Camberwell win, going on the closeness of todays result and the week freshen up.

Where were you on Saturday Monkey?

Swinging through the trees Sausage. Na, i was doing bits and pieces. Unfortunately my career choice does not always enable me automatic access to Saturday afternoons.
Are we all getting a little excited for the weekend?? Should be a great game. Hows the dude on a few posts back saying that Loater wont play?? Crazy stuff. Mind games or what??

Crazy stuff or factual ? Unless Camberwell decide one arm is enough consider him available. Will not play but may have an imput on gameday via coaching support.

Sausage - pop down to D4 forum where you put so many early posts stating St Marys would win 18-0 & smash everyone - all other teams were average etc. Lots of posters wish to communicate!

Or are you the original gutless wonder who posts & runs - no meat sausage just puff pastry we suspect!

Thanks for clearing that up, I wasn't sure about that one... Probably won't come back then...

That's ok.

Good point regarding him not coming back it would be nice if he went back to Rupo but I don't see it happening.

He's on good money at Sunbury.

Popped out to the Snakepit for only my second squiz of C grade footy for the year - and was mighty impressed. Saw a lot of the two teams last year and can confirm Kingbrown's comment that both clubs are playing a level of football almost indistinguishable from last year's D Grade GF (but I guess that is a bit of an oxymoron given it was a C Grade prelim).

I have read much about the closeness of the game - but there has been little mention of the fact Carey played the second half with only 20 fit men - in conditions and on a ground that is tailored to running game of the Woodsmen - and with only a 6 day break. The last 5 minutes of the third and the last quarter were some of the most inspirational footy I have seen. Carey must take confidence from their win against Camberwell earlier in the year - their finals record over the past few years - and Camberwell's history of big match hiccups -making Saturday a close, hard fought contest at Sandy.

What do people think of the two promoted sides chances in B Grade next year? St Bedes form after promotion and an eveness represented by the fact that 5th through to 8th finished on the same points indicates an opportunity for both clubs to play B grade finals in 2008. Thoughts?

Nice write up Boner. Who were the injured guys? Will they play this week? Some huge clubs in B next year - Marcellin, Haileybury, Skevvies, St. Bernards, OM's to name some. Would think that both clubs would be happy to just stay up. Guess a fair bit depends on who they can recruit and whether guys like Chard, D-J, Beranger, Hilton are more than one season warriors. Same at Carey with Dutchy and a few of the other "ring-ins".
Maybe this is going to be a close one. I didn't know that Camberwell had a history of big match hiccups?? Or are you just trying to stir the boat?

Agree with KB that it matters not where Careys recruits have come from, he was more just indicating that they are a talented team who on paper would touch up there own 06 team. So for the same Rupo team to be competitive, then it shows they have matured and are on the right track.
Also big name players is a bit of crap as well. Guys like Collins and Parton are big name players because they are good footballers. Guys like Baddeley, Monzell and Phillips at Rupo are good footballers. To me they can be called big name players. As long as they are a good player for your club....they are a big name.

Still all "P" Platers

Monkey Magic,
Saw the unhelmeted Heppell leave the field in the the first quarter and didn't return. Big Trumbull went off just before half-time and did not return either. So I guess that means I actually understated their performance before - 21 players for the best part of the match and another less for a half. As for the availability of these two for the GF - someone from Carey would have to divulge.

Funny how its almost all Old Boys clubs in the top grades isn't it? And I think it will be both clubs ability to pull more alumni talent back to their clubs that will determine their fortunes in 08. Camberwell Grammar are a notoriously poor performer in the AGS - and Carey have their ups and downs in the APS. Are there many current VFL and SANFL listeds with strong ties to either club?
