Venue choice is about a lot more than the pitch. I love watching the Perth Test on TV but the WACA is by far the worst major cricket venue in the country. I have been to precisely one day of cricket there and you could not pay me to go again. It was an exercise in endurance rather than enjoyment.

I love the WACA test but the premise that the WACA is better than the GABBA in terms of facilities, pitch quality etc is a little ignorant.
The Gabba should have missed. Has had boring matches and shit crowds.

The Gabba test is held during the school year. We also typically get lower drawing teams so of course the crowds will be smaller.

The WACA probably has the most exciting track in Australia. Never a dull moment, unlike the highways in Brisbane.
It's behind Adelaide for best pitches is in Australia, but the WACA is just a depressing dump. With poor facilities. The sooner the new Perth stadium is build the better

Test matches will be played at the WACA

Adelaide would rank as the worst pitch in Australia, lovely ground and atmosphere but the pitch is and has always been a batting paradise only. There has been some great finishes at adelaide and if you look many results lately but also look that they could never occur without sides declaring. Almost impossible for 4 completed innings in adelaide.

The WACA pitch is arguably the best pitch in the world and has been for many, many years. Good batsman will score runs, average batsman will struggle. But it is a real contest for batting and bowling. Rest of the facilities and everything else at the WACA are second rate.

Adelaide would be the only test match I would knock back tickets to day one and two at. No interest in watching a batathon.

I get sick of reading these lines thrown out by people with absolutely no brains for their own. Get a brain, check your facts and figures. Honestly.

What are you disputing? That it is not a batting paradise?
Last 6 years
2012 Australia 1st innings 550 Match drawn against South Africa
2011 Australia 1st innings 604 Australia won Against india
2010 England 5 declared for 620 - England won
2009 Match drawn both sides made over 440 in 1st innings. Against west indies
2008 Austalia won, made 535 in first innings. against New Zealand
2007 Match drawn both sides made 526 and 563 respectively in first innings. Against India

How much further you want me to go back?

Maybe it is you who should find out or get some knowledge before shooting off at the hip.
Everyone who has ever played the game at any reasonable level knows the Adelaide oval is a Batting paradise.
Why do you think that both England and Australia are already looking at maybe 2 spinners for the next test, quick bowlers are cannon fodder at Adelaide.

Come back and have a chat when you know something about the actual game you are talking about.

I'm not sure why either of you are arguing about the pitch. They just installed a new drop-in. Past results are irrelevant.

And this second match on the ground appears to significantly more alive than the first.

I am aware of that, i was just replying as apparantly it was recent news Bradesmaen that Adelaide is mostly a supurb batting pitch.
It was not an argument, its not arguable.

Will be interesting to see what the pitch is like, but based on the recent shield game I think it will be business as usual at adelaide.

And in this current one Doherty took a fivefer.

What a joke. Perth over Brisbane in every way for cricket. Better pitches, better time from a Melbourne perspective, better chance for Aus, better weather.

Test cricket in Perth is fantastic.
Love coming home from work and being able to watch the final session.

I love the WACA so much.

Its a pure cricket ground. Grass hills, unorganized stands and tents placed willy nilly and an exciting wicket. Beautiful (hot) weather. It might be small but that means everyday looks like a packed house.

I had family and friends over from England last year who had been to most Aussie grounds except the WACA and we went to the first three days and they fell in love with the place.

It really does remind me of being at an old ground in England but with great weather and fast wicket.

It's only one year anyway. We'll be back.

Looking forward to the DSC UAE test, sorry I mean the Gabba test.

And complaining about sun? What the ****? Who are you? The Queen?

This isn't Royal Ascot. Sorry we don't serve cucumber sandwiches at the WACA either. ****in vampires.

How the hell did you go playing cricket in Australia if you can't stand a few hours in the summer sun?

SPF 30 brah.

What about other international fixtures, odi"s and t20 games?
ODI's won't exist by then. People have already tuned out because it is now just a drawn out T20 match and they'd rather on spend half the time at the ground and watch the same level of entertainment.
