With 4 players (Ooh aah, Warney, JL and Marto) gone, who else is under the pump and who are their replacements.
I reckon Diz, Kasper, Katich and Cullen are cooked.
In comes - Rogers, Hilf, Voges, Birt, Bailey (Cullen type), D Hussey and perhaps Edmondson as a smoky...
Go your hardest.

Hilfenhaus and Voges are certainties.

They've played for Australia recently and they'll obviously recieve their first contracts.

Rogers would be very likely considering his form and growing importance to the future of Australian cricket.

So that's 3 replacements for 3 of the retired players.

the other one's are unpredictable.

Gillespie may actually retain his contract due to the high number of players retiring and his fantastic, superior form over the domestic season.

Kasprowicz is in some trouble, I think Katich may keep his and Cullen is a hard one. He should be replaced but who is there to really replace him with? White and MacGill both already have contracts.

So for me, there'll be 5 or 6 changes, depending on the Cullen thing and I can only think of 3 guranteed replacements.

Harwood from Victoria would be a strong chance.

White lost his contract last year Nip/Tuck, should get it back this year.

So if White lost his then he's another certainty,

Obviously there's 4 definite spots open already,

they'll be taken by

Hilfenhaus, Rogers, White and Voges.

then it really comes to down to how many more will lose their's?

Kasprowicz will,

Cullen probably will,

and Gillespie may not (he definitely shouldn't with two fast bowlers already losing theirs/retiring) because his domestic season was fantastic is still relatively young and has a fantastic international record. He definitely deserves to keep his. I don't think anyone can argue that.

so there's probably the spots of Cullen and Kasprowicz left which is 2 more spots open.

Warne - White
Cullen
Kasprowicz
McGrath - Hilfenhaus
Langer - Rogers
Martyn - Voges

So there's two spots left, seemingly a spin bowler and fast bowler.

however they may to use a batsman in one of the spots (probably Cullen's) if they feel there are no suitable replacements.

I wouldn't have thought Butterworth will get a CA contract on the back of just 5 Pura Cup games.

They'll want to see him play a full season first.

They won't drop Diz to include someone older and more injury prone - Dougie Bollinjoke from NSW and even Magoffin from the Warriors would have a better shout..
