2016 we dropped off the cliff so most of us have erased it from our memory.

Him and Andy, yeah. He's gone on record a lot to say that when he arrived at the club Andy taught him the standards that were needed and now the two of them drive it. Honestly anyone he would wake up on Christmas day and run 100x 100m has the dog hungry drive (andy). Now half the team do it from what i've heard

Didn't really want Serong. Wish we had of bid on Tom Green and if we didn't get him I wanted Robertson. Happy with the Young selection though. Big risk not taking some of the good WA talent.

I often talk with Crows supporters, and love bringing up this trade period.

They picked Fisher McAsay before Serong and Young.

The next picks were Henry, Green, Flanders, Pickett, Day.

Could get there reckon to beat Pav though he needs to play 300+ Games.

Doesn't have too get to 353 but 300+

I think Pav's ability to play so many games for a WA side is still underrated stat that should give Pav further weight when comparing him to potential challengers for the greatest docker ever.

Caleb basically hasn't missed a game since debut and the season has now been extended to 23 games. If we have a successful next 4-5 years there's nearly an extra season of finals and the extra round that will make games played stack up pretty quickly.

Baring injury he should become only the 2nd Fremantle player to become a life member before turning 26. (As discussed elsewhere there is a small chance Andy does it if we make a GF from positions 8 to 5 or via a losing qualifying final, and they hold the Doig before his birthday.)

I didn’t realise people didn’t want Serong! His pre-draft write-up is like “was better than the guy rated best midfielder in the draft in many games. Has so much leadership he could be the pied piper of Hamlin but wouldn’t need the music. Perhaps could get better at kicking while being tackled by 3 players simultaneously”… and people were like “noooooooo!”.

It’s an amusing read, and a reminder of how drafting is very subjective (and the pre-draft write-ups tend to be absurdly positive!!)

It’s interesting, I actually wonder the same looking at Reid for WC. Has such a mature body that you’d think development would probably have to be mostly between the ears.

In retrospect, it’s evident that Serong is an incredibly driven individual, even for an AFL player, which has served him well. Long may it continue!!

Do you remember what 2017 was like?

We were consoling ourselves that Brayshaw was taken at two purely because North wanted him and Cerra was the actual player we wanted at two. So if you thought of it as Cerra 2 and Andy at 5 its not actualky that terrible that we missed out on LDU and Darcy "the next Pavlich" Fogarty.
