Caleb is the same age as Lachie Neale was in 2016. Is 2024 Serong equal to, better than or not as good as 2016 Neale?
2016 we dropped off the cliff so most of us have erased it from our memory.

I reckon he's a chance for the charlie, he's running third on the coaches' votes board and only 3 votes behind the leader.
I reckon he's the ultimate driver of standards in the group and anyone who thinks he's not going to play out his career at Freo needs a lobotomy.I put $20 on him last week when he was 15-1, now he's down to 9-1
All that nonsense aside, he has screamed leadership for the past 100 games and I've always wanted him to be captain over Brayshaw however the past few weeks and their relationship just makes me think **** it let's have dual captains.
Love the fact he's playing his 100th in front of his family at the G too (as much as i'd love it at Optus)

I also think it's good that he has Brayshaw as a foil. Equally driven and professional, but with a more cuddly edge.I reckon he's the ultimate driver of standards in the group and anyone who thinks he's not going to play out his career at Freo needs a lobotomy.

Being the first player to be a Premiership player, Norm Smith & Brownlow Medal winner will certainly put you in the conversation.High praise indeed for Caleb

Why Fremantle great believes Caleb Serong can become the club's greatest ever player
“He could be the greatest ever Docker. He’s traveling on that sort of path.”www.sen.com.au

Stephens is gone
Please someone else take Serong first
Screw you Sydney!
Hahahahaha oh lordy. I remember wanting Dylan Stephens aswell. Serong seemed such a dull pick. And we stuffed it up within a pick.. Serong. Ugh
THEY ARE GOIGN STEPHENS - it was on the screen I think
Nooooo
Any two of Flanders, Young or Robertson please.....no Serong
Holy bejeebus, do we go local and take Robertson, or go Young and Flanders??
Do we have the courage not to take Robertson!!
Serong, I still dont understand this pick
Oh well. Serong it is I guess. I hope he goes alright.
Serong it is !
Not sure how I feel about this .....
Would have much preferred Robertson (or pick downgrade) over Serong but oh well, got to back the young fella in now.
There you go melters. Light the torch!!!! Flame ON.
I like this one especially. Recruiting team get to keep their balls!!! Yay!!The whole recruiting teamsbslls dhould be on the line if this doesn’t work out
Happy with these. Didn’t rate Robertson.
Twomey rated him fourth best in the draft. I don't know why ther s the melts.
Who did people think we'd be taking? Robertson was never in the mix.
And the winners are bring back drum, raffrox and purple jesusDidn't really want Serong. Wish we had of bid on Tom Green and if we didn't get him I wanted Robertson. Happy with the Young selection though. Big risk not taking some of the good WA talent.

Damn if only we took Dylan Stephens and Devon Robertson like the fans wanted, instead of Young and Serong. We'd be winning our own deathride every year cos we'd never get out of the bottom 6
Could get there reckon to beat Pav though he needs to play 300+ Games.High praise indeed for Caleb

Caleb basically hasn't missed a game since debut and the season has now been extended to 23 games. If we have a successful next 4-5 years there's nearly an extra season of finals and the extra round that will make games played stack up pretty quickly.Could get there reckon to beat Pav though he needs to play 300+ Games.
Doesn't have too get to 353 but 300+
I think Pav's ability to play so many games for a WA side is still underrated stat that should give Pav further weight when comparing him to potential challengers for the greatest docker ever.
Baring injury he should become only the 2nd Fremantle player to become a life member before turning 26. (As discussed elsewhere there is a small chance Andy does it if we make a GF from positions 8 to 5 or via a losing qualifying final, and they hold the Doig before his birthday.)Caleb basically hasn't missed a game since debut and the season has now been extended to 23 games. Controversy in the "called it" games. The judges have reviewed the footage and declared another winner. Fat Nyfe. Come on down.Damn if only we took Dylan Stephens and Devon Robertson like the fans wanted, instead of Young and Serong. Stoked with Serong tbh.
From memory there was a school of thought that Serong didn't have a high ceiling and had peaked early - making him the boring safe pick.I didn’t realise people didn’t want Serong! His pre-draft write-up is like “was better than the guy rated best midfielder in the draft in many games. Has so much leadership he could be the pied piper of Hamlin but wouldn’t need the music. Perhaps could get better at kicking while being tackled by 3 players simultaneously”… and people were like “noooooooo!”.
It’s an amusing read, and a reminder of how drafting is very subjective (and the pre-draft write-ups tend to be absurdly positive!!)
It’s interesting, I actually wonder the same looking at Reid for WC. Has such a mature body that you’d think development would probably have to be mostly between the ears. From memory there was a school of thought that Serong didn't have a high ceiling and had peaked early - making him the boring safe pick.

Yep. Vanilla. Flanders was coming home with a wet sail and his goal kicking ability had people dreaming on him. From memory there was a school of thought that Serong didn't have a high ceiling and had peaked early - making him the boring safe pick.
haha. This is why I no longer question Walls.Damn if only we took Dylan Stephens and Devon Robertson like the fans wanted, instead of Young and Serong. We'd be winning our own deathride every year cos we'd never get out of the bottom 6
