Im thinking probably a 3rd round pick would be appropriate, i mean hes no mug, he can play he was just never going to get a spot in the Geelong 22, and with Donohue as a replacement, its logical for him to move on
You'd hope we'd get an alright pick. What did we get for Paul Chambers again?

No idea off the top of my head, but hasnt chambers been delisted from Sydney as well?

Callan is considerably better than Chambers was though, although they play different positions

IIRC Chambers was a second round pick? Didn't do much at Sydney, and like you said I believe Callan is more worth to a club than Chambers, have to admit I was surprised what Sydney was willing to give us for him.

Edit: Yep, just looked back and we got pick 35 for Chambers.

What picks do the Dogs have exactly?

Good for both parties.

He's exactly what they need i.e. a bit of guts across the half backline and he was never going to get a gig with us with DJ in front of him as cover for small back.

Callan + our 2rd round pick for Bulldogs 2nd round pick???
Probably will be used in the Hudson deal although I heard last week that a 3 way deal may just hapen that could get us Hudson and Callan in the one deal. We'll have to wait and see

If it is just Bulldogs and Geelong I can't imagine the Dogs giving up any more than a third round pick and it will more than likely be our highest 4th rounder IMO.

Re: Breaking News!!

i'd rather give away callan for nothing than get this bloke.

in fact this doggies supporter i know rang up KB on SEN one day and just gave it to KB cause KB thought that sam power (or sideways as we like to call him) was a decent player.

Re: Breaking News!!

Some players who struggle at clubs can go elsewhere and thrive, maybe they are willing to take a risk or two in regards to this because or list is so strong, if it pays off great, if it doesn't it wont hurt us. Power could be a pretty slick Half back IMO, he has nice skills.
Could be the case have nothing to lose really considering Callan was probably going to be delisted anyway

From this side of the fence I would be happy with that deal. We would be lucky to get a 4th round pick for Sam and I would rather a ready made player than another late pick which we seem to have a lot of right now.

I wouldn't know what to expect from Power, his roll changed towards the end of the year and I thought he did quite well when he came back into the side late in the season although on here you wouldn't know that no matter what he does he has always been teh scape goat for many BF Bulldogs supporters. If true it could go either way for you guys but he will offer more in the short term than a 4th round pick would and add more depth to your list that will be challenging for another preimership over the next few years.

goodluck to the bloke
really unlucky, and in afl class, just had too many of the same
he will be an upgrade pick
geelong are only looking at max 4 picks, with one already committed
so looking at upgrading pick, eg want bullies pick 2 for callan and geelongs pick 3
waiting for other deals eg hudson & McMahon to be finalised to finish this one

Re: Breaking News!!

Well we have a habit of humiliating Power, particularly the Port Adelaide Power but we'll take him. He's no Luke but he'll be good for a back-up for any premiership hangovers or injuries early next season. Could see him as part of our long term future.

Re: Breaking News!!

I think some of you are being overly hard on tommahawk who was just reporting what he seen. He wasn't making any real statements about what it meant. Also, given how Callan is being traded to the Bulldogs I think that the assumption that Wells having lunch with Power just prior to trade period means power a possible trade to Geelong is not pushing the boundaries of credibility.

Wether you believe tommahawk or not is up to you but how about you show some diplomacy in stating your beliefs and not provoking arguements about it.

good luck to Tim... He'll do well at Footscray. He's a good player, just couldn't crack into our team. The new environment will do him the world of good.
