That Tom Lonergan would not play AFL beyond 2009, after being taken to the cleaners by Jonathan Brown and Fevola late in that season. Tom Gillies would take the spot in defence vacated by Tom Harley. I was shocked to see Lonergan in the side in Rd 1, 2010. Can't think of too many instances where I've been happier to be wrong. Love ya Domsy xoxo

During the 2014 season with the Bulldogs a broke and rabble and upon hearing Ryan Griffen was leaving I remarked that I'd never see a premiership in my lifetime and the club was likely to be gone by 2020.
Well, you really should see another in the next few years with Bont and Darcy together. Not to mention a great young list aside from them.

Don't know if I posted this on BigFooty back in the day, but I become increasingly frustrated with a Hawthorn's player wayward kicking in his first year (13.15 at one stage) and said he was overrated and will never be a great player. Turned out I could be more wrong, and ended up kicking 13 in one game.

I say the same thing every year mid season.

Never been right
...

I actually made the prediction about 2015, what a blast from the past.

If we went through your post history it be littered with wrong calls. Don't throw stones in a glass house Art Vandelay_
No doubt there would be.
Never tried to infer there wouldn't be.

But GAJ having no impact on games is next level drivel.
I may or may not have said/thought that DGB was going to be a star of the competition.
Don't feel bad. 100% of threads discussing draftees, or prospective draftees has people getting things wildly wrong. There's a reason we're anonymous people on a message board and they're on 6 figure salaries drafting footballers.

Some wanted Wells sacked for trading up to gamble on Holmes.

I actually thought the cats did well in cutting Jordan Clark loose … he was a nothing player :(

I said Brodie Grundy was more cooked than a Brazilian BBQ...

I thought James Sicily was a one trick pony that would struggle to be a consistent AFL footballer. Thought he had an excellent kick but as a forward he didn’t strike me as anything more than a 3rd tall and an average one at best.

Then we went down back and turned into an excellent footballer and a really effective swingman. Really exceeded my expectations of what he would become. Hope we see him back at his best again soon.

I think I remember OP’s thread about Richmond and was equally critical of their 100 point loss to the swans in the last round of the year and how they would struggle to attract talent off that performance in the off season to turn it around. Then they go and recruit Caddy, Prestia & Nankervis and go into becoming one of the modern best sides you’ll see. Could not have been further wrong if I tried.

Last one: I thought in 2017 getting Drew Petrie to WC was just Simmo looking after a mate. But boy, in that one year he just went above and beyond. Could have treated us a paycheck and coasted but nope, he was First in, last out every week. Played some important roles across the year & also got to play in a famous finals win against port. Then after starting his coaching stint went back and played in our WAFL team when we needed some numbers in the early days in 2019. Has always done whatever was needed and really highly valued at the club.
