Would be surprised if he didn't get a game as the sub in the last few rounds tbh. I think he'll grab any opportunity with both hands.

My mates is good friends with his x - i have just sent him an sms to see if he knows anything re CB contract. Worth a try....

Sorry no luck here - mate has finished uni ( so he does not see her much now ) and is not comfortable asking her. I asked him for her number but he just would not pass it on :)

If I was the club, I'd offer him a 1 year contract. It would be on close to minimal wage too, but I'm sure Callum won't mind. He just wants the chance to prove himself in the seniors, which he hasn't had the chance to do.

If we delist him, we'll be looking at a 4th round draft pick (somewhere ~60-65). It comes down to whether a speculative kid taken that late will be better value than a tough, competitive inside midfielder who has a laser like boot. With or without the explosive running and agility, I don't think we're so overloaded with midfield talent we can ignore someone of Bartlett's attributes.

Besides, it'll only take 1 year to find out. If he hasn't made it in another 12 months time, then fair enough.

Agree BitCat, we've worked on him a lot, and it would have been rewarding to see him break into the seniors this year, seeing as he was about to a couple of years ago, (named as an emergency), then had that knee injury.
Hopefully it all comes together for him next season.
Bartlett, Zorko, Beams, what a great combination to have!

BC2 , nail, hammer. head. Ask any ressie watcher about him hitting packs like am torpedo - low, hard & fast. Fiesty & tough. Just has too many qualities for us to give up now when 1 more season will give a definitive answer. The kid has worked his ass off for 3 years for a chance & from an outsiders perspective I believe it will not help the group to discard him now. Far more upside than several older on the list,

he will - no doubt about it

As he's slowly gotten his game sense back, how damaging a player he is is really starting to come through. My pre-season optimism has returned.

Any reason to be worried about where the ice pack is located here?

Ud have to give the bloke another year to prove himself. Would be an absolute shame to delist the kid both for us and him

I hope he gets to play at least 2-3 games before anyone even thinks of delisting him. I can bet my house that those 2-3 games will better than those delivered by the likes of sheldon and more recently polkinhorne.

Interesting to see Cal in this picture of the group at the airport about to fly down to Melbourne to play North. Not a usual practice to send injured players to away games with the group, unless they're trying to get him used to being around the senior group for something...

He's in the middle here, chatting to RoBew. At least, I'm 99% sure it's him.

EDIT: On further inspection, it could be Docherty which would make more sense Looks much more like Cal to me though.

Cal was at the Ressies today in plain clothes. So not him in that photo.

Allegedly no plates, screws etc required for his face. Just had to "press back out" all the bits that got smacked in.

Bewick next to him, would have to be Beams, no doubt going down for a family visit. Those two a pretty good mates off the field i think. No doubt probably checking out pic of a new set of clubs Beams bought or something lol.

Good to hear Cal didn't need too much work done. Has had the start to the year we all hoped he would, hopefully he can pick back up after this little speed bump. Would love to see him elevated mid year and get a senior game this year.
