He wasn't absolutely terrible last night, so will stay in.

He was flat footed for that square up by WHE which cost us a certain goal, but other than that there weren't any glaring howlers and it was a solid 5/10 performance. Best game he's played in ages.

Did he try to take it on his chest rather than in the hands?

I thought he played well.
Some of the marks he took under pressure were very good for a player of his stature and height.

I still hold out hope he can make it.

He looks a better player when he isn't camped inside 50 completely and can push to half forward.

Solid game from Cal. The game suits him when it's fast & opened up. A great young competitor and hopefully this kick starts a big season.

Surprised he had the pace to keep and catch Saad multiple times. Agreed wasn't a bad game still looked trigger shy on his kicks even looking to handball often after marks (and not to a running player but fwd handballs).

Yep. He’ll learn from it, move to the footy and get the dukes up.

Oh God, imagine if he plays 50 more, I'm still getting the splinters out of my eyes from his first 50 games

a few players were guilty of that last night, bad habit
I personally don’t think he did anything wrong.
It was an excellent spoil.
When our defenders do it we applaud them.
We their defenders do it, we blame our forwards

When youre one of the WORST SET SHOTS IN THE ENTIRE ******* AFL WHY THE * WOULD U TAKE A SET SHOT OFF COX THEN GO AND MISS ONCE AGAIN FROM 30 METRES OUT

Useless ******* spud.

Why would u even play him anywhere in the forward 50? If he gets the footy he will miss it 8/10 times and waste the opportunity

Thats probably a gimme goal from u11s onwards.

Only surprise was that Callum didnt use the stand rule to get and extra 10 metres out to the right, to ensure he made the distance.

It wasn't just the miss.

There was a moment on the wing with a couple of minutes to go where he had it to himself but stood still and waited for it, then got closed down and they ran away with it.

Then the miss.

Result, we lost.

Last week was his best game in 2 years and it was a bog average, 5/10 performance that drew praise just because he wasn't as bad as usual. He isn't up to it. Not even close to AFL standard.
