Player Watch #21: Callum Coleman-Jones

Why is everyone suggesting JHF will play forward? Tommy Powell was prolific in the middle and JHF has a considerably larger frame than he did. Couldn't be more excited about the prospect of having a player that produces a dominant first year in the system not unlike bontempelli or walsh did.
Cunnington, Simpkin, LDU, Anderson, Phillips, Powell, Thomas, Stephenson, ... it's going to be limited mid time at least to start with.

Not sure about his ruckwork because of the lack of footage but his marking reminds me a lot of Shaun Rehn back in the day and the older posters know how good he was before his knees collapsed
Yep Gary Dempsey was good too ….

Finally got round to watching the highlights package the club put up. Plenty to like in the small sample of senior games played, although that free against McKay is still rubbish.

Confirmed he didn't want to go through the PSD.
Called it.

Explains everything.

EDIT: Some may s**t on him for it, but good on him. Indicates loyalty and arguably leadership. Those attributes might end up being more valuable to us than next years second rounder.

A lot of posters on here are critical of Brady for "overpaying" for CCJ who we courted yet we're also critical of St Kilda for not coughing up for Xerri who were courting him. Can't have it both ways. If the club identifies a player required for our rebuild then paying a bit extra should be acceptable but some on her are carrying on like clowns.

I suspect that most people who were upset about the CCJ trade will quieten down now that he confirmed he didn't want to go through the PSD. Some will probably take it out on him though.

I still wish it hadn't cost us a future second, but the sum of all parts is probably about fair once the PSD leverage was removed.

Not sure who in here was emotionally invested in St Kilda paying up.

You didn't just tie that into the grievances over the CCJ trade to make a false emotive argument?
