We havn't been THAT bad these last 2 weeks
our intensity has improved drasitcally from rounds 1 and 2
The problem is an unstable team and raw kids
they're learing still the game
If we didn't have injuries in rd 3 we would of won
If we kicked accurately in rd 4 we would not of gotten thumped
We are getting better and it wont be long untill we're going good
Get the team settled (how it is, with perhaps Bock, van Berlo and Sellar/Craig coming in for structure) and we'll get back to our best soon

Just give the team time, we're playing exactly the same as early last year, just not fluking a few games like 2009.

We'll push for finals. So calm down right now and stop abusing the shit out of everyone from Craig to Rutten to Burton to Douglas to Edwards to Doughty (I would agree with one of those though).

You couldn't be more wrong - no one deserves to be abused.[

It's not the raw kids, Davis played very well i thought. First time i've got to see him up close and he read the play well, used it well, and is a natural footballer. Cook on the other hand, besides that run down on the wing had the fumbles, cant kick, not particularly defensive. As much as i've complained about Symes in the past, i would much rather he be playing when fit over Cook in the same role.

In the past few weeks i think its been about the use of the raw kids such as playing Young on Mcgylnn, wheras he would much rather be suited to White.

This flushing out the forward line has to stop though, keep Tippett at full forward, have Walker leading out, and have the hard running half forwards, (Knights, Porps, Burton, Douglas etc) pushing back rather than having all of them running back at once. Ridiculous coaching.

Burton had so many shots on goal... i remember:
- not making the distance on 2 occasions
- out of bounds
- behind
- poster
- goal

Tippett/Dangerfield have never been reliable kicks up forward either (Tippett moreso than Danger)... they've had fewer opportunities than Burton, but some were sitters. Porpz hasn't had many shots on goal, while Walker's shots have mostly been from 50 out.

...all our forwards need to work on their goal-kicking!!! but especially Burton, considering he's the player that the Crows are kicking it most to.

Yep, being 0-4 is worthy of a 'calm down' thread. Being 15th and one of only two winless sides is certainly worthy a 'calm down' thread. Having one of the oldest sides in the competition and being 0-4 and being one of only two winless sides is certainly worthy of a 'calm down' thread.

We're smashed every week in the clearances, in the tackle count and more importantly, on the scoreboard. If we were losing with a ton of kids getting invaluable experience that'd be tolerable, but when you've got Goodwin, McLeod, Edwards, Burton and Doughty, all 30+, running around each week and maybe two of that group actually playing to a reasonable standard, then you've got some major issues.

So no, there is reason to panic. We've been hearing how it'll turn around since the Monday morning after the Fremantle disaster and here we are almost a month later and we're 15th and without a win. We pride ourselves on our competitiveness and yet for 3 out of 4 games you could question that very aspect.

We'd rather throw a 33 year old Simon Goodwin in the midfield over Petrenko, we insist on making Walker a forward flanker or even worse, a wingman, and Tippett and Porplyzia, our two 50+ goal kickers from last season, have combined for what, 1 or 2 goals? Panic is justified, if it's not already our season is close to being over before it ever really started.

As much as I might not agree our young players are the issue at the moment... moreover our accuracy infront of goal / ball movement...

Apart from telling us it's time to panic you have contributed sweet FA with this post...

Unless you think all of a sudden playing Petrenko midfield was perhaps the part of the puzzle we were missing??? I think playing Taylor in the midfield was a good move yesterday... I mean for once he seemed like he was in the game for more than 5 or 6 possessions... I haven't checked the stats.. but were our clearances really that bad... wasn't it more turnovers and inaccuracy???

Forgive me... but I don't think you have covered yourself in glory here.

Sure, we are doing extremely poor, but the way a lot of you guys are acting is way over the top. I have not even bothered to read most of the threads popping up anymore but some of the most recent I have seen are "Sack the coach", "trade Walker", "Goodwin captaincy" etc. We are just 4 weeks in and look at how much all of you have turned on the club. If we keep this up for the rest of the year (which currently it looks like we have a little while before we could begin to show something) I would think that half of you wont be posting on here anymore due to you killing yourselves with how over the top most of you are reacting so early on:rolleyes:.

I have not been the biggest fan of how Craig coaches and such but his been able to get us to the finals just about every year since his taken over and get the most out of our list of players (much more then I think most coaches could). We have lost 4 games and have looked terrible but I guess that is enough for the large majority of you to already want him thrown out.... At least give him till the end of the year at least and see what he can do to try and fix this. Bringing in a new coach now will not do make any difference to how we are currently performing, I don't think there is much Craig can do to make us just go back to winning like we were last year, it is going to take some time.

How about we just have 1 thread where all of you can complain in and tell us how the club should be run:rolleyes:.

The Crows Season is over, no team has gone 0-4 and made the top 8.

Adelaide are currently the worst team in the league.

We will not beat the Western Bulldogs, we will not beat Port Adelaide, we will be 0-6.

Face it, its over. The evenness of the comp does not allow teams to give a 0-4 head start and make finals. Good teams don't go 0-4.

I think calm is exactly what is needed. Panic creates chaos and smart well thought out plans are not made this way. Things are not good, obvioulsy, but we are not 0-14 yet. Keep clear heads and minds. Stay united, work thorugh it and not make hasty, rash decisions. .

Hasty decisions is exactly what we need, better to change things and lose, than not change anything and lose.

No team has gone 0-4 and made the 8. The comp is too even to allow for such a head start.

Well thought out plans are what we need. Just putting people here and peoiple there won't change things. Be smart and controlled and don't give into public hysteria. I am not saying don't try new things because obviously things are not great at the moment, and we need differnent aspects to our game (keep Waler at FF) but seriously, many posters on here are acting like little w***ers. Do you react like this at work or in your personal life? F*&k me if you do. Thank God we have professionals running Football clubs.

Correct. The enormity of the task sinks in when you realise we need to win 12 of the next 18 just to scrape in. Not much margin for error given we are still to play Saints, Dogs, Pies, Lions, Cats..and most of them twice.

What will be interesting is how NC manages the side for the rest of the season...will he coach/select for an honourable 9th or 10th (which will still be unacceptable obviously) or will he look to some youth and try to get something rolling for 2011. Get some players in for ops etc and get a huge preseason into them.

Im neither a NC supporter or hater, but I do feel he is in a massive corner right now. If he concedes the season then he will be tar and feathered for not admitting this squad was not up to it 2-3 yrs earlier and thus allowing us to access high quality kids. Doing it now when the draft is compromised is a serious planning error.

If he keeps selecting for this year and we get 9th/10th...or even if we sneak in for 8th and a likely quick finals exit....he will also be lampooned for another finals failure.

Either way a dark year ahead for him and a massively disappointing year for supporters...hardly reason to be calming down.

Some of the reactions are a little over the top, but I think Crows supporters have every right to be concerned with what we are seeing out there.

It isn't just the losses, it's the way we are losing, and the appearance of the team as confused, disorganised, and not enjoying their footy at all.

I can't see any significant improvement in the team at all since Round 1, which is alarming, considering we don't have that many players missing from the semi-final team v Collingwood.

I would love Craig to come out in a press conference, and admit that the zone strategy is not working, and we are going to trial a back to basic plan for the next 4 weeks.

His "Plan A" might be the best gameplan in the AFL if everything is working 100%, but when it isn't, another strategy needs to be implemented when injury, poor form and fitness are concerns.

Instead he and the coaching team appear to be sticking to our zoning strategy no matter what, rather than conceding the bleeding obvious - that the plan has been worked out by even the bottom 8 clubs coaches now.

I hate to think what scores would have been kicked against us if we played the Saints or Geelong in the first four rounds!

Gary Ayres and his famous "process", and stubborness to make changes, generated the same amount of frustration from fans towards the end of his tenure.

There is a disconnect between some of Craig's comments in press conferences v Melb and Carlton, and what supporters are witnessing.

Talking about great intensity vs Melbourne, and nominating Goodwin as one of the players that he is pleased with against Carlton, frustrates the hell of the supporters, because it does not reflect what is actually happening.

It's all very well to not want to pan your players in public, but seriously, blowing smoke up their a*** is not the way to build credibility with your supporter base either.

Richmond? They got absolutely pummelled by Melbourne today.

We're not even that ****in bad. We are a top 8 team but things are just not going our way. Whilst our injury toll as it stands at this point doesn't justify our performances, we have too many underdone players, too many players whos confidence is shot to bits and too many guys just out of form in general. We're the same team as we were less than 12 months ago and we were smashing teams, absolutely smashing them. Sit them down and make them watch the entire Essendon and Carlton games at the dome last year!

Just need our rhythm back.
