But you have raved about them and said they both should be best 22 so you rate them.

But you don't rate Weller. Strange.
Ballard warranted more opportunities to break into the B22 which he was denied, half the time because of his competition and the other half because of RTB's older player fetish.

I did a B22 a month ago which had both Weller and Ballard in it, I also did one the other week in that new thread which had Weller and not Silvagni. Strange?

I've just done a bit of snooping, and spoke to my "connection" at the club (who currently has a 90% success rate with these things) regarding the McCarthy situation. It sounds as if the club can get McCarthy whenever they'd like...but they're holding their guns for that one until they sort out another target...Jesse Hogan. Hogan has refused Melbourne's offer of a contract extension, and so they've come to the table with Freo. The word is that they want two quality midfielders for him (Neale & Barlow?). Freo are giving themselves until mid-next week to land that deal, and if it falls through they'll put an offer through to GWS for McCarthy - which they expect to be accepted,.
Well it looks like the Hogan negotiations did not come to fruition. He still hasn't signed an extension though, so I have no doubt that we'll have another crack next year. As I said - the McCarthy offer wasn't put forward until we'd fully explored a potential Hogan deal. Steve Rosich coming forward this afternoon shows that we're finally being proactive with McCarthy.

"Our interest as a club is ongoing and we feel as though he is a player that would fit into our list,"

"Cam and his management have been very direct with us that they want Cam to return to Western Australia for personal reasons, and has also advised us that he does not want to continue his career at GWS."

"It's pretty clear that Cam and his management are seeking an opportunity here not for commercial reasons given the sorts of contractual terms we have discussed with Cam's management,"
Steve Rosich, Fremantle CEO

Looks like we are still genuinely in the hunt instead of giving up.

I've put myself in it now. I should have done it in a quieter thread. Or maybe the GWS board.
We would have found it there as well, don't worry.

Lets be honest here, its not the sort of post you let slip through to the keeper is it?

Lot of hate for GWS but what would you expect ?

They were gifted the finest of young talent and now everyone wants a piece of what they have. I'd be a prick if I was bartering from a position of power.

Okay thanks. But it's pretty important to know if they have been listening to offers.

Did we offer Barlow and it was rejected? If so, did GWS reject the offer because Barlow wasn't enough or because they are not interested in doing a trade?
Did they ask for Barlow and he or Freo said no? In which case they are interested in doing a trade, but the terms were too high.

I can understand that you can't say more. Just throwing it out there.
He told me that GWS asked for Barlow and we said no deal. This fits in with the story on afl.com.au

i wouldn't worry too much, i don't think many people bought into your story about getting Hogan this year

So GWS are willing to do a trade. They just want the best one possible. All that noise about a contract being a contract is just that. Problem is getting a player who would say yes to being sold down the river.

I said that we were having a crack at getting him; we'd have been mad not to. What I said was hardly beyond the realms of possibility. Obviously somebody at the club thought that we were a realistic chance at it, so much so that we delayed putting an offer forward for McCarthy until we were positive that Hogan wasn't possible this trade period.

They are self entitled snobby twats, they are so used to top end picks they think anything over pick 20 is poor.

Damn it :( I was really looking forward to see our tall trio of Hogan McCarthy & Pav next year
Don't you want to bump into him at the beach and get your friend to take a photo of you on his back, in your bikini, so it looks like you're naked on his shirtless body?
Have I ever told you that I love you? I love Fyfe more, but I still love you too.

I think you have but I still like hearing it :)

I'll make sure I get him to make himself available for a picture with you when I "convince" him to take one for me :)
