Wonderful email to receive the other night and you couldn't take the smile of my face for rest of the night. This kid sounds like a ripper. The fact that he and Hugh McCluggage have signed on till 2021 must give everyone at the club an almighty boost> With Fagan and Noble at the helm we are on the way back and much better times should await us. Here's hoping Alex Witherden completes the trifecta.

Can't wait to see Rayner banging in goals from 50m against those Victorian clubs.

One has the name and polish and the other just gets the job done? So I'm thinking Prince Rayner and Steel Wooller.
 
Well if there is one thing that could make this re-signing news even better, it isn't Alex re-signing, it is dishwasher talk. Could this thread be any cleaner, more polished or exciting?

Was listening to SEN, Sam McClure reckons we are paying Cam Rayner $500k a year in the third and fourth year of his contract. They all agreed it was logical as we have money to burn, also mentioned we were talking hypotheticals to him about this before he was drafted.

You wonder if they’ll (or can) bring some of that forward into the first 2 years and smooth out the total over 4.

They can't - AFL rookies have a base pay mandated by the CBA, and it can't vary until the third year when they're off their rookie contract.
