People owe me numerous apologies. You said we should wait until finals. Finals are now over and he was horrific, as expected.

Not that I am claiming to have done any better Dan, but nobody owes you any apology, below is your 2017 re-draft early 2022 season after being asked to re-draft them based on their future value.

Interesting features of your re-draft.....

Based on performance since, you are looking good on Oscar Allen, Cerra, Uniacke, Balta, Baker, Miers I would say.

You are not going too well on Fritsch(way too high) Bailey(too high) Ryan(too high) Powell(too high) Starcevich(way too high) Sam Taylor(way too low) Spargo(way too high) Rayner(too low) Ed Richards(way too low) Darcy Fogarty(way too low.)

I think its very accurate in reference to 29 players being better than Rayner. We can go backwards and forwards on the order of the 29 ahead of him but that's irrelevant to Rayners position.

Did you seriously put Balta ahead of Sam Taylor? Absolute joke right?

I'd take Sam Taylor at 1 in this draft.

If it is his best final ever then fair enough. But I doubt it will be. It is his first final as a prime aged player, so as far as that sample goes he has had a huge impact in his only prime aged final so far. So the signs are good.

The signs are obvious.
He will always be a flaky Jake Stringer type. In fact, I highly doubt he even matches Stringer's output once his career is done.

Typical downhill skier and one of the major reasons why Collingwood were always winning this game because of players like Rayner.

See you sometime during the off-season Danny, we have much to discuss next season!
I saw plenty of Brisbane players crying on live TV too by the way. I thought that wasn't allowed 😜

what do we have to discuss? I've won the Rayner argument 2 years in a row. And you guys can sit on his GF performance for the next 8 years.

but Danny, are you good enough go back to back to back

Rayner for the Normie

Receiving kudos for that in the presser right now.

Doubt Danster will hear it!

Heck I hope they ignore him, I'd love to see Maynard get absolutely poleaxed by Rayner at a stoppage.

Can you imagine the traffic on this thread if he did!!!!

Worth a bet, good long shot
Mystifying stuff here. Rayner for the normie? lol. well he won the reverse normie.

it's mind boggling why Brisbane fans continue to rate a guy who week in, week out does nothing. once every 3 full moons he plays a decent game.

I would take Taylor number 1 now as well.

Definitely got Balta too high but he would go fringe top 10 in a re-draft now I think.

For the record the re-draft I posted was danster168 's effort.

I had Balta at 3 and Taylor at 4 in mine.

I rate Stringer a lot higher than most, providing he is near his best. Rayner hasn't gotten near Stringer's best form yet. Rayner I am pretty sure is a bit more professional than Stringer.

Downhill skier is not a term I would use to describe Rayner, that is more a term you would apply to a player who dominates in low stakes games v weak opposition then goes missing when it is tough. Rayner is not like that.

Sure he is. You are just blinded by the fact you have pumped him up and now have nowhere to hide.

It's amazing, you stick up for an absolute nobody like Rayner and yet, you're happy to pot the absolute crap out of past greats of the game.

What? I have criticised Rayner's game today, and his season, both were disappointing. And I have said he has never been near Stringer's best form.

I am a Rayner fan, I make no apologies for that. I still think he can be a very good player. Unlikely to hit marquee level based on his 2023 form. At the moment it looks like I over-rated him a bit. Long way to go in his career though.

What greats have I potted?

only read the last couple of pages but damn, some of you take FAR too much pleasure in seeing a kid (he's 23) be a bust* at AFL level.
Far easier to talk shit about an AFL player than acknowledge the failures in their own lives. Quite pathetic when you think about it.
