In terms of what 'success' looks like for Rayner, setting the bar that low has gotta hurt

Setting the bar higher for now would be unrealistic.

Rohan averages 5% less disposals in finals than his career average

Rayner so far averages 20% less disposals in finals than his career average. Objectively his drop off in finding the footy on the big stage is more severe.

It's hard to say how many finals Rayner has left. Let's say another 16. So far once he's kicked multiple goals in a final, and twice had 3+ goals/assists. If he kicked multiple goals in close to half of his remaining finals, 3+ goals/assists in a quarter of them and starred in a prelim on the way to a premiership (while averaging 12.5 disposals to close off the disposal drop off) - objectively he would've met Rohan finals standards.

I don't see enough of Brisbane but Cam Raynor always looks like he's trouble for us. I feel like we put as much work into him as we do Cameron and Neale; ths latter two still get off the leash (H&A and GF) so clearly Raynor is not at that level yet.

My gut feeling is he's underperforming, has obvious dangerous talent and will be De Goey or Shai Bolton like when he gets his head straight.

Might be slight fitness issues? We've had guns wrecked by lingering nasties, Beams on field troubles started when that sniper Lynch smashed his hip: I hope it's not something like that.

I'm pretty salty he wasn't the Norm: Bobby Hill, and Charlie Cameron and young Coleman were great but we won it in the midfield: Daics and Mitchell were in control.

I reckon neither held onto it for long enough with their disposals to be noticed, plus Daics is a bit arrogant seeming (it's the nose) so the media mark him down.

Luckily the umps like him so likely he'll get a Brownlow or two, for what that's worth (not a great deal).

2024 is what Alan Jeans would call the crossroads for Cameron Rayner. And when he gets to that crossroad Dan, he either steps up, or he steps down. It is entirely all up to him, he makes that decision, not us.

I had Taylor and LDU above Rayner. I had Rayner above Fritsch. Rayner just finished top 5 in the B & F for a GF team. Fritsch has never finished top 5 B & F for a team finishing in the top 16.
