Let me see if I understand this…

It’s now the forward’s job to kick it to themselves.

And Fritsch is ‘overrated’ because (1) he doesn’t do this, or is it (2) that he was quiet this week notwithstanding he’s going to kick at least 50 goals this year on top of 60 last year.

I curse the technology that allows me to read your opinions.
Good players impose themselves on the game even when their team is struggling.
When the going is tough Fritsch is nowhere to be seen. I'd like to see how he would go playing for your mob, he'd be lucky to have kicked 20 this year.

Put his goal tally aside and look at his other stats - 9 touches and 1 tackle a game is shocking. He offers nothing else other than getting on the end a couple a game.

I might agree if we were discussing mids. But forwards don’t kick goals in a vacuum.

Your example proves my point. No player could have kicked 50 or 60 at North this year. Larkey lacked supply. He’s done pretty well to kick almost 40.

By your logic is he overrated because he should have kicked 60?

Such a boring comment. Read the room.

Not talking just about goals here. Good forwards impact the game in other ways like forward pressure, creating contests, linking up in general play... None of which Fritsch does. 4 disposals is what happens when he needs to work for it rather than receiving it on a platter.

Cam Rayner has been pretty bloody good in recent weeks. I'm starting to see why he was so highly rated by the recruiting managers. It's taken him a while to put it together, but he is getting there. Everyone is too quick to judge these kids. Some players take time.

I agree with one of the commentators who said he could just be a finals wildcard. Key forwards tend to struggle a bit against the best defences in September, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rayner busts a Gabba final wide open with a 4 goal burst.

The Lions forward line has become a scary proposition with Daniher and Hipwood, plus Cameron, Bailey, McCarthy and now, Rayner

Sorry. I’ll leave you boys to your circle jerk.

May be you should go back and read the first 30 pages to understand why this circle jerk may have started.

Otherwise... thanks for stopping by ! Cya !

We all enjoyed rayners game on Friday night. But now as the new week starts can he do it again? Maybe not 4 goals. But if he can be consistently that good then we may just have a chance come September.

He certainly has more chance of being a difference maker than danster168 ’s two incomparable stars Charlie Spudgo or Bayley Avfritsch. 🤣

Dislike to see a player miss a final but there should be no way that Rayner doesn't get a week's suspension for that tackle on Ben Brown....who knows with the inconsistency of the AFL tribunal though?

Nothing wrong with that tackle.

He didn't lift or sling.

It's just a good hard tackle and sometimes people get hurt.

The AFL will look at it harshly because arms were pinned and the head hit the turf hard.

Personally I think pinning the arms is still a textbook tackle, but there's always trouble for the tackler when the head hits the ground.
