Are you joking? What is it that you think Rayner has done? He's a fringe player that the club is desperately trying to find a position for him to be half decent at....clutching at straws now danny boy
Fringe player? Come on mate. The bloke has never played reserves and is an automatic selection every week. Are you joking? What is it that you think Rayner has done? He's a fringe player that the club is desperately trying to find a position for him to be half decent at....
yeah, by fringe I mean 15-22 within the 22. so yeah, not fringe as in chance of being dropped.Fringe player? Come on mate. The bloke has never played reserves and is an automatic selection every week.

Again incorrect. Seems like you are constantly clutching at straws and pulling things out of your arse for the sake of it. Do you have a problem admitting that you are wrong?yeah, by fringe I mean 15-22 within the 22. so yeah, not fringe as in chance of being dropped.
Ha ha ha Spargo is better - there is not one other person who would take Spargo over Rayner and you know deep down you wouldn’t either. Just stop you sound like an absolute goose- stop digging the hole deeper, your wrong, stop trying to just justify a stupid incorrect argument.spargo is better. he isn't a stats guy but has performed really well over a long period of time for a premiership team and has had a great start to 2023. He is a pressure forward something that Rayner doesn't do. Rayner should be better with his physical traits but he just is wildly inconsistent.
Rayner didn't make it as a forward, so they moved him into the middle where he also didn't make it. Then they moved him back where he did nothing and now after a good game he'll go forward againNo-one ever questions his ceiling much like no-one ever questions Gary Rohan who looks like the greatest player in the afl when he is on but as we all know with Gary, that's like twice a year.
So you don’t know what fringe means then do you.yeah, by fringe I mean 15-22 within the 22. so yeah, not fringe as in chance of being dropped.

when is the last time you saw Spargo play midfield time? or get centre bounces like Rayner got? Rayner's inability to find the ball when given midfield time last year was unacceptable. Give Spargo the same mid minutes and he's smashing Rayner in all of those stats. The pressure acts will always reward the guy around the ball more often. Their stats so far in their career are quite similar despite rayners increased opportunities around the ball. you list a bunch of stats but some of them are extremely close. not too much between them. I'm happy not to hang my hat on spargo don't get me wrong.Spargo averages 12.3 pressure acts per game across his career.
Rayner averages 12.6 pressure acts per game across his career.
They both average 2.4 tackles per game.
I will let those facts speak for themselves in response to your ludicrously imagined statement I bolded above.
But let me just add, Rayner averages over 3 times as many coaches votes as Spargo per game. Rayner averages more disposals, contested possessions, goals, scoring shots, score launches, ground ball gets, contested marks, inside 50's, metres gained, offensive 1 v 1's. Basically everything that can be measured.
I hope you are Charlie Spargo's mother Danster, because that is the only person on this entire planet with a forgivable excuse for thinking Charlie Spargo is somehow better than Cam Rayner.
Just for clarity thats not why he went back. During the off season we were basically out of tall backs with Adams, Gardiner and Lester all injured. So Rayner was playing as a third tall in the backline.no-one is questioning his upside. At his best, he looks great. Amazing. But Gary Rohan is exactly the same. Kicked 3 amazing goals in the Qualifying final including the match winning goal after doing not much all year.
The coach put Rayner back to find more of the ball.
Paper is probably thicker then our tall back depth atm, definitely need to draft / trade some tall timer down the backline. Our tall back depth is paper thin though
Appreciate the clarity. But Rayner is a small defender, not a tall defender. He is 2cm shorter than Clayton Oliver for instance so surely he is irrelevant to tall back stocks?. At 187cm you're a small defender.Just for clarity thats not why he went back. During the off season we were basically out of tall backs with Adams, Gardiner and Lester all injured. We then picked up Joyce as a supplement player who seems to be doing ok, and others are returning from injury. So now have just enough depth to move him forward again.
Our tall back depth is paper thin though
Maybe gives a hint to how thin our tall back stocks are or were over the off-season. He's always played more tall than small hence one of the few that could cover back thereAppreciate the clarity. Good game from Rayner again today. Influential and makes an impact on the contest.
Spargo with 1 disposal & 1 mark to half-time against a good looking Bombers outfit. Invisible.

another typical Rayner game. 12 touches and a goal.
what's north and melbourne got to do with Cam Rayner? Literally nothing. You feelin' yourself tonight Danny boy after a big win against checks notes North.
