9 tackles vs the Pies. More than any other player on the ground.
I believe it's been Harley since he debuted. Don't seem to be any official stats though. And on the flip side probably the least successfully tackled player or up there at least. He's a beast.

AA squad Rayner. 2025 - most goals for Lions Morris, most disposals for Lions W Ashcroft. What is danster168 seeing that no one else is?Can’t help but love how he willed Cam’s AA squad into existence.
His other prime targets have been Ashcroft and Morris. Enough said.
most panic handballs and scrub kicks out of a pack from Ashcroft too.?AA squad Rayner. 2025 - most goals for Lions Morris, most disposals for Lions W Ashcroft. What is danster168 seeing that no one else is?
Fritsch also doing a great job playing the vital role of stepladder in the greatest comeback from 3 quarter time in the history of footballmost panic handballs and scrub kicks out of a pack from Ashcroft too.?
Fritsch still kicking more goals than Rayner despite being in a bottom 6 team.

I quoted stats like you always do. You ignore Rayner’s tackles conveniently when you quote stats. Additionally many of his kicks and handball stats are hugely beneficial compared to a standard stat in that he breaks tackles consistently. He is probably one of the best in the game at it. This sets up team advantage as the opposition is not expecting it. You need to appreciate where players add value to the team game and plan as well as their role relating to team balance and cohesion instead of relying on individual’s pure stats alone.most panic handballs and scrub kicks out of a pack from Ashcroft too.?

his best is very good. but it's rare. He's still not a forward and he's not a mid. He's a 15 touch, 1 goal a game player that's selective with his chases. He certainly wasn't drafted at pick 1 to be this. It was a horrendous pick given what was on offer in a very good draft.I quoted stats like you always do. Anyway you keep on comparing individuals on stats alone and you will continue to be corrected.

You are still comparing any Rayner stat versus a normal stat. Oh dear. How many of that draft would replace Rayner in our premiership team right now and who would they replace. Please don’t suggest Fritsch.his best is very good. but it's rare. He's still not a forward and he's not a mid. He's a 15 touch, 1 goal a game player that's selective with his chases. probably 20 odd. comfortably. You are still comparing any Rayner stat versus a normal stat. Oh dear. How many of that draft would replace Rayner in our premiership team right now?
His average of 15.9 possessions a game is considered elite for his positionhis best is very good. but it's rare. He's still not a forward and he's not a mid. Agreed. His average of 15.9 possessions a game is considered elite for his position
You realise that Rayner is playing in this position because he's not fit enough/good enough to play full time mid? This hybrid thing is a result of his inability to find a position. He was not drafted to be a 15 touch, 1 goal a game player. He was drafted at 1 to be a Dusty Martin player. They even tried him down back to try and find him easy footy and that failed.Agreed.
Interesting that danster168 believes that there are 20 players from that draft that would push Cam out of the current Lion's team. Can they play the style of role that the current AA squad member brings?
Maybe they come with Harley Reid?
Dan would probably include the tackling machine / tackle breaker Bayley for Cam. Yep, like for like.
I am sure the Lions would be looking at team balance and players' attributes in addition to just disposals only when making their decision acknowledging that Cam's 15.9 is elite.
I will give Dan some kudos as at least it looks like he might be considering Cam for the top 20 in his famous Danster draft revisit.
Probably the realist post in this thread.Look, Cam Rayner will always be a bit of an enigma who drifts in & out of games. It's just that his good moments are outrageously influential and at times almost singlehandedly win Brisbane fixtures (see 2024 prelim).
Rayner is often completely invisible but when he has that inevitable purple patch there's very few players that can rival him. He'll never be a full time mid and I highly doubt he'll ever get an AA guernsey but he is a bloody tough matchup (his aerial leap dictates this) and has that rare blend of physicality, goal sense, contested marking prowess and breakaway stoppage speed.
Danster is right in that I don't think Brisbane thought they were drafting a mid-sized forward who can occasionally pinch hit in the guts but as their list profile currently sits he's close to the perfect foil for guys like Neale, Clug, Dunkley and the Ashcrofts.
The doubters will cite his two (average to poor) grand finals as proof of his flakiness; his advocates the aforementioned prelim and other late season games where he shredded teams apart in a quick 20 minute burst as irrefutable evidence of his greatness. However, the truth unsurprisingly lies somewhere in the middle...
Who at the Dees averages 15 & 1 again? Petracca, Pickett and…oh that’s right, nobody. lol maybe because Petracca gets it 25 times a game. something that Rayner tried to do but failed.Who at the Dees averages 15 & 1 again? Petracca, Pickett and…oh that’s right, nobody. Because it’s bloody hard to do
Edit - Petracca not even averaging 15 & 1 in 2025

you don't spend pick 1 on a Shaun Mannagh clone who is averaging 18 and over a goal a game. 30% more of the footy than Rayner and plays the same role.
Cant wait when this years trade rolls around and superstar shaun mannagh will be offered big deals like Rayner got offered to leave since they are now apparently the same player, just a line out of an article Cam Rayner was set to have 10 Victorian AFL teams begging for his services at the end of the 2025 season.lol maybe because Petracca gets it 25 times a game. something that Rayner tried to do but failed.

I know its been a bad couple of years Danny, teams rubbish, coach sacked, Frisch is still a potato, van rooyen is rubbish, petracca doesnt want to be there, clarrys smashing windscreen wipers while on the other hand premiership submarine morris is the hottest property in town and premiership player cam Rayner is putting on powerful performances almost every week
Old mate not only a massive hypocrite but now also demonstrating they don't know the meaning of the word "gifted"dude, we beat you at your home ground. All those gifted father-sons and you still couldn't beat us.

getting something out of pure luck is a gift. Getting multiple of them is extreme gifting. The fact that the afl didn't change the rules years ago is lucky in itself.Old mate not only a massive hypocrite but now also demonstrating they don't know the meaning of the word "gifted"![]()
