Danster goes hiding when Lions or Cam are going well. If they are not going well he comes in like an authority on the game. He didn’t rate Morris or W. Ashcroft. Footy expert!! Then when things go against him he scurries off. Watch him come back if Cam has a bad quarter or game in the GF. Imagine if we did that with “6 in a granny”?

If brayshaw or serong had that first half we would have loss by 40 and they’d be kick from pillar to post.
If he was putting up these numbers for north he would be irrelevant
Rayner is a number 1 pick
Zac Bailey was 20 odd in same draft I’d pick him over Rayner every day of the week.
That’s not to say Rayner is a bad player

Conspiracy time, I think for legal reasons the AFL has told Brisbane they cant play Rayner in high impact positions for more than one quarter a game, so that the ball can be shared around.

Thanks for that however never did I say Rayner should be in the best 5. I am actually struggling to understand what you are putting forward. My only point was that you can’t look at disposals only when judging players. Many have done this with Rayner as it is easy to do versus analysing his game. A Rayner disposal if more often more impactful than the average disposal.

Agree, including Sidebottom and especially Cox as well. Sidebottom played on McCluggage who was best on ground and Cox got 6 disposals. It was Ok to just put down 3 players but Darcy Cameron played well or at least add in Crisp or Quaynor.

Anyway, back on topic, Rayner is like Cyril - doesn't need a lot of possessions to influence games.

I’m not sure what sensibly minded supporter would pick Vanillashaw over Rayner.

I mean Jai Newcombe is better than Vanillashaw - comparing pure mid with pure mid - and he was taken in a rookie draft. I could name about another 50 current players in the same boat.

To be fair Brayshaw did gain some cool points when he did that interview with a bleeding head. Aside from that you’re spot on
