I don't think we're ready yet for the final push over the top. Only then would I vote yes to bringing in players of Bruce's age.

Bruce, as talented as he is, is not so terribly different from a swag of players we have (Scotland, Carrazzo). I don't see him making any appreciable difference to our side, really, and would just be taking a kid's spot on the roster at this stage.

I would say no, but he is still nowhere near as bad as people are making him out to be. We have plenty of guys who can play his role, which is why I would pass, but as I said, he's not that bad. He's a fine player who could still contribute to most teams, as someone else said.

With that said, if we can get him for virtually nothing (late pick, etc) then I wouldn't be upset. I wouldn't do it if I was in charge, but it's not like he's a bad player who couldn't help us.

I agree. We're all entitled to our opinion, so there's no need for personal insults just because you disagree. I know I have been guilty of name calling once or twice around here, but we should at least try and keep it civil.

In the old days we would have jumped at a player like Cameron Bruce - I recall we picked up a 30 year old Greg Wells from Melbourne in 1980 - who ended up playing in a premiership for us in his second year with us.

I dont think we are that close to a premiership now (wish we were).
