How could we possibly have lost to Freo at the G though? We flogged them, despite how shit we were for the rest of the year.

Did Bailey and the other coaches and supposed recruiters in the room not have any morals? If you dont agree with something, you dont have to do it. It's quite simple really.

Lets face it, just having Bailey as coach could be seen as tanking. He is the worst coach we have ever had at the MFC. You could give him a team full of Gary Ablett Jnrs and he would still manage to lose a game.

That is sickening. They have to go if found guilty.

Also, I think I have to now be put into a position to stick an asterisk on the little Hankook ball that my little sister (who was one at the time) received from Brad Green after that Port game.

As if it hadn't already been a total Annus horribilus, Neeld must be wondering now why the hell he ever left Collingwood.

What an absolute unmitigated nightmare this has become. Just can't believe it.

What did we do, blow up a mirror factory or build our headquarters under a giant ladder, or something?
 
at least it's come out and you guys can work on getting over it. neeld can make an honest mark with a new administration. he's done a massive cleanup, you're gonna recruit massively to change culture. it's the dark night of the soul for the dees and as they say, it's always darkest before the dawn.

I appreciate the sympathy but it's hard to sympathise with a club that's employed him twice as CEO and been in the shit regarding salary cap/tanking both times.
 
Woke up this morning, opened up the MFC app on my Phone, and what do I read? PLayers threatened with the sack if they don't lose games. Couldn't believe what I was reading. Now I know What it was that I hated about connolly - He's a f--kin' dog.

Does anyone think it's a possibility that due to our current position (re-re-re-rebuild) that if we're found guilty, the AFL will settle for connolly and schwabs head? Could be a good thing for the game to have these ***** out of the game if these reports hold merit.

Sadly i think the AFL will only settle for penalties that will shut the media down on this issue .
 
I just cannot believe that true, dyed in the wool Melbourne identities would let this happen. Schwab is a journeyman, Connolly SHOULD have red & blue blood running through his veins.

I'd hate to think that Stynes was behind the tanking scandal.

You really have to feel for the players. Some of them with careers at risk. But they still had self respect & pride to nearly win that Richmond game, against the odds.

FWIW, I don't think that the club should be punished as a whole; but the bad eggs ie Connolly, Schwab & whoever else involved needs to face the music.

Was 186 a sign of the player's defiance against the club ? I remember watching that game on Foxtel & thinking that the players were not trying.
 
Schwab is bad news.

I heard a tale some time ago that all of the coaches had agreed to give Junior Mac an extension prior to a meeting with him about his future. The meeting comes, Schwab stuns everyone in the room by announcing to Junior he is no longer a required player - despite the coaches having already agreed they wanted to keep him.

Not to mention the debacle that resulted from his getting us into bed with Energy Watch. Even blind freddy would have seen Energy Watch was way too risky!

uhhhh, Football staff. Well that could be players. Not sure how sacking the waterboy is gonna make the team lose.

I guess you're right - atleast with the subliminal point that it's certainly open to interpretation.
