Surely there’s a Baggy Green waiting for him in a few days now.

This will sound silly but depends whether Warner is fit. Doubt they will go two blokes on debut when Burns is as scratchy as anything.
the way burns got out surely is sending yet another warning to the selectors.
At least puk flushed one. Burns got out fending off a delivery from a bog medium pacer.
ok, shane watson numbers then![]()
Just can’t see Burns not playing especially if Warner is out
yeah i'm sure they'll pick him but he is obviously totally out of nick.
I think they would have picked him regardless of Warner's injury.
140+ is medium now? Christthe way burns got out surely is sending yet another warning to the selectors.

Good news for Green Hohns and Bailey seen leaving early....Hopefully going to see Langer.....Justin this kid need to play
For
He currently is in the best six bats in the country
He bowls 140 clicks and has tremendous bounce enough to trouble the Indians...who cares if he can only bowl 8 eight overs in the innings....that's eight overs of 140 plus from a number six something we are not getting atm
He is a smooth mover in the field with a good set of hands
Against
Nothing
His technique and temperament is so far superior to Head’s its not funny. I know Head hasn’t done much wrong (or Wade for that matter) but I’d drop either of them in a heartbeat for Green. His batting is the real deal and any bowling in the next year or two is just a bonus.
Head doesn’t bat in the top order. Neither does Wade.i'm not sure why Head is an automatic selection. He gets bowled far too often for a top order batsman. He does have age on his side but geez his technique does not look like a top line batsman. Didn't really look like it in england. Averages 41 partially because he filled his boots against two rather sh*t teams (NZ and SL) which still isn't great.
if we want to be a dominant team we can't have a top order with Burns, Head and Wade in it.

If we're discounting runs against NZ then there aren't many runs in Test cricket that count.i'm not sure why Head is an automatic selection. He gets bowled far too often for a top order batsman. His second wicket was really clever. Gill was playing aggressively and slashing at anything wide, and successfully. Bowls another one that's a cuttable length but this time he's wide on the crease, angling it in. Gill's eyes light up but it cramps him and he's forced to spoon it upwards.
Very clever bowling.
His cover driving, down on one knee, reminds me of the way Kim Hughes used to do it.
maybe Green doesn't hold the poase as long, but awesome to watch. If selected he will not bowl very many overs. But gee how handy will his bowling be.
But then they say his bowling is better than his batting.
I look forward to seeing him in his Baggy green in the first test.
