This bloke escapes scrutiny like few others.

If he'd performed this way at Melbourne as a no.1 draft pick we'd never hear the end of it.

He's played over 100 games, averages 12 disposals and just under a goal a game.

Maybe as a 24 year old next year he'll get some media.
I think that its a good thing if he hasn't copped too much and hope that others get similar treatment.

11 possessions as a pick 1 in a grand final.

Surely it isn’t working out at Brisbane and clubs start asking the question.

What is he worth? Does he need a fresh start? Who would pay up?
i Don't ever adhere to the notion of fresh start unless they are late 20; and been at a club for 10 odd years, i mean i have heard it about players like Bailey Smith and the like, that have been in the big time system for only a few years. fresh start, what a crock

Troll thread about a 23yo who's missed an entire season with an ACL and just dominated a final (and very likely played injured in the Grand Final after going off in the Prelim). How old was De Goey before he started averaging 20+ touches a game? 25?

Very high likelihood this thread (and the mainboard one by that Dees troll) look embarrassing in the future.

it is frustrating watching heeney and rayner stuck up forward, not when playing my team, but when i want to see the lions or swans tear some other mob apart for selfish reasons

as good as heeney has been,im asking"what if?"about him and rayner,if he stays forward,at the end of their careers

toby greene obviously an exception, but geez lions get him in the middle

Looks fat and overweight.

Needs to cut down so that he's able to run out games well. Was waiting for him to stand up during the GF but unfortunately he was non existent.

Ignoring the fact he is a number one pick, he is going OK as an explosive half forward type. He stunk it up on Saturday, I don't think one of his possessions was effective either and his errors helped the Pies kick 3 goals. I think he lacks footy smarts, when he has time to think about it he struggles so the decision to make him the loose man in defense by Fagan was not smart (IMO).

Brisbane desperately need an explosive mid who can break the lines and break away from contests. He needs to step up and Brisbane cannot afford to let him go as they need him to become the explosive mid. Not sure whether he can.

He's had 50 games and 2 full seasons since the knee.

Petracca was cut no slack as a young player who missed a year with a knee.

Rayner just goes under the radar.

Even worse, posters claim he's doing OK. It beggars belief.
As I said if you ignore his draft position he is OK but factor in where he was taken, its not great.

He has a good mate alongside him in Eric Hackwood.

Well as a 22 year old he did quite will in his first grand final, kicked 3 goals.

Rayner managed to help kick 3 in his first grand final, for the Pies.

My pies mates were laughing their head off re the Beams trade, gave them DeGoey and Crisp. What did you give Crisp away for again?

Like he'd want to move from Brisbane to Dingley. Dingley is a destination no one will want to go to. Drove past it, looked like a tip.

Well there you go, it is a tip.

SEN last month revealed Hawks directors had been divided by a series of setbacks to the $103 million-plus training and administration base, to be built on a former Dingley landfill site.

Good lord its worse than I thought

The Dingley site was used for “solid inert wastes" from 1983 to 2012 and has been regularly tested for methane gas levels over the years.

Sounds like the perfect home for a side that wears brown and yellow.

Shutting this one down.

Cam Rayner is contracted to the Brisbane Lions through to the end of 2025.

There is no news to report by way of an update to that, nor is there any suggestion he or Brisbane are looking elsewhere.

Until such time, feel free to discuss Cam in a more appropriate thread, or board, depending on your intention for engaging in such discussion.
