I can't see Schwabb leaving for anything other than because he wanted to. The guy was bordering on absolute power within the club. I think he is just going elsewhere for more money or a bigger challenge etc. I wouldn't be suprised at all to see him at Melbourne next year.

But yes, our next CEO should stick to the business and have no input at all into drafting or trades.

Irrespective what reason Scwabb gives for resigning the word is that there are rumblings at WAFC level over Freo's lack of achievement on field - it ain't always about the $'s.

WAFC can possibly see that both WA clubs mite miss sept action not only in 2008 but also going forward

Shwabb leave us with the oldest list in the AFL with a premeirship a longway off and the WAFC nows it. he's meddled in draft selections and trades.

Pay him out now -find a CEO that wants to be a CEO not also the recruitment manager, list manager assistant coach and sitting in the coaches' box match days.
Hmmmmm  I don't agree with your sentiments.
I am happy with our list, I think a premiership may be around the corner, and who would give a toss for what the WAFC thinks.

He has never put anything but the club first, and everything he did was in his belief, in the clubs best interests. We have a stable platform and business system in process now that should guarantee it's success off-field for some time.

The truth is this move will work in the Dockers and Schwabbies favour. It is time for him to move on. But give him some credit when it is due. I take my hat off to you Schwabbie.

On the weekend, we had a team with an average age of only 4 months older than WCE. The list is in spectacular form. Get a grip.

Agree he seemed to have to much to say on trading.

Has done a sensational job in transforming our club into a power off the field.

From a non Freo outlook
Two down one(Rick Hart) to go
Yeah, they've just been terrible for Freo.

This club was in a worse situation than your sorry club when these two guys took over. If Brayshaw and co can get North to be even half as strong off-field as Schwab and Hart have, you'll be calling the man a Saint.

Schwabby may not be perfect (show me a man who is) but he's done an enormous job in making this club into the strength that it is. Some people seem to forget very quickly that if it wasn't for Cameron Schwab they may very well not have a club to 'support'. I don't expect everyone to like him, and I don't expect everyone to agree with all his decisions, but surely most people can be big enough to acknowledge the good work he's done at the club in the last 7 years.

You beat me to it. I wonder which South Street lamington salesman will the MOB be suggesting as a replacement?
Steve Roscich - Schwab's understudy

Schwab has done very well in making the club money but his legacy has been tarnished to some extent in his meddling in the drafts and trading.
