Thought he was a spud from the word go...nothings changed.

How he even still plays first class/ Internationals is a joke. How he is still Captain will go down as lifes biggest mystery.

I reckon "How the hell did Steve Smith, Michael Beer, and Xavier Doherty get Baggy Greens" probably comes in ahead of it. :p

yeah you need a niec 45 degree angle to the ground. warney was pretty much spot on

not the greatest photo, but the best i could find. video's of him (and there are plenty) show it better.

for any kids watching. that's what you need to practise. even practice at the after match drinks.

^^ perfect 45 degree angle.

the angle of the blow up penis is also something you need to master

What i don't get, is he is a slogger yet he gets to T20 and chips around singles

It's pretty obvious that he changed up his batting game a year or so ago, and it completely stuffed up his one major strength.

When he came onto the scene he was like Afridi but it seems CA got a hold of him and told him to tone it down. Pretty much once he moved to 3 in England he started to be more sensible which made him consistent in that period but now hes neither consistent nor a slogger.

I have always felt he gets into 2 minds about how to play

He knows if he is there in the last few overs he can hit some big sixes and score quickly, but it seems to lead to him getting too bogged down if he comes in too early, when thats combined with being very badly out of form, you see what we got atm

A player who has always relied on his eye, he just needs that confidence back and he will be right, through winter he was starting to look like the White of old

20-21 year old coming off a shield season where he hit 4 tons and took a 7fa bowling leg spin gets a baggy green. Stop the presses

There's an issue with players who have the ability to basically hit the ball wherever and whenever they want. It's a phenomenal talent, and not many have it.

When Andrew Symonds was young he could basically hit any ball out of the park - but he was told too 'tone it down a bit' - and he turned into another average test batsman. I hope it doesn't happen with Warner - i would rather he keeps playing his way and maybe averaging high 30s-low 40s as a test player than 'settle down' and average 45+.

White shouldn't have believed his publicity that he could have been atest batsman - it looks unlikely now. he should have remained as a dangerous hitter, great fielder and occasional spinner.

We need more Afridis!

With the season over, I thought I'd record Cameron White's stats for 2011/12:

20/20 - 55 runs @ 7.85 HS 28 (7 completed innings)
ODD - 114 runs @ 16.28 HS 36 (7)
F-Class - 251 runs @ 20.91 HS 39 (12)
Total - 420 runs @ 16.15 HS 39

He made his highest score of the season in the shield match just completed.

He's a far better batsman than those figures indicate. Let's hope he has just had one of those seasons.

I understand that people will be gloating over cam whites form, but IMO he's a genuinely good player, he's a genuinely good batsman, and from all accounts a genuinely good bloke.

I am glad that, in this case, victoria are showing faith in his continued leadership.

You can't even say its been because he's batting up the order in the absence of Hodge and hussey because our opening pair have actually been quite solid for a change, its our middle order that has melted like butter.

I suspect that he should bat himself at 5 or 6 and maybe even andrew mac bat above him.

I'm also glad that he's shown the good sense to continue to protect handscomb, instead of throwing him to the wolves as CV seem to have done with finch.

Rogers and quiney are in their 30s, he's approaching 30 along with Andy Mac, and the d.huss is in his early/mid 30s.

Victoria are in a bit of trouble at the moment, and we only just missed out a shield final spot on the back of our outstanding capacity to develop decent bowlers.

Frankly the return to state duties of P.Siddle guided us through the last 3 shield games.

Love Cam White, and I hope he can re-discover some of that magic again. Its disappointing because at a similar age his performance with the bat was not dissimilar to Clarke's, his bowling was as good as any other shield spinner as well.

Clarke has gone on to have a test average just shy of 50, with a might summer this year past, and Cam White's form is just below rubbish.

Funny sort of summer this gone, khawaja, o'keefe, cutting, hughes, Katich, hodge, cosgrove, finch, hartley, marsh amongst a fair few who have dealt themselves out of test colours when spots are available due to form and bad luck with regard to injury.

Instead Forrest and cowan look to be renting short term spots with more than a few under the microscope over the next 12 months.

A shame thats he's had such a bad year. Was a real asset to our ODI side a couple of years ago, regularly came out with a few overs to go and belted quick runs. I hope he can, but I'd be very surprised if he ever gets back in the Australian setup.

That's a very poor remark to make of most of the posters here.

<shrug> I do the same to Haddin, as do many others, I understand that there are people who dislike White, and its not all posters, there are some though.

You only have to read the pros and cons of every player from every state with national selection.
