One of my favorite players while at Hawthorn. I got to meet him at the Riva new years day party this year. I always thought he left for the cash, and asked him mate why did you leave? he didnt elaborate but said the club basically forced him out...

If I was there, probably. He just stuffed us around all 2010.
Memo, H.I.G. , if you can't be bothered going don't comment on a club champion, everyone knows why he went and this may even be his last year, so if you are a true supporter of premiership contributors why don't you rock up and send him off with some good natured barbs.

One thing Browndog was and is not and that is half hearted.

I'll be cheering him if Bluey plays him on Bruest again this year. This fixture down in Launceston was the making of Bruuuuuuest in 2011!

Brown plays mainly as a forward doesn't he? Which is odd because if I can recall his press conference when he resigned, he highlighted how he was looking forward to getting back to his 2007 form as an all Australian defender exclusively, no more forward cameo.

Played all year as a forward.

Took him about half the season to really adjust, but he's really adding something for us up forward now. Defensively always putting pressure on, and as an older body that knows a bit more, leads up at the good times. Usually good for a couple of goals a game plus some more assists.

I won't boo him, but I won't be cheering him either. I loved Browny and he broke my heart. (Oh, don't give me that. I know why he left. Chicks are allowed to be sentimental about break ups.)

At the end of the day, the amount of love I had for the Brown Dog won't let me boo him, but I'm still sad to see him in colours that are not brown and gold. I'll probably sit and brood be all melancholy about my adoration not paying his bills.

Anyone who boo's him needs to sit down and watch 08 gf again. wonderful club man. hope he walks past the boundary at M52 so i can give him a cheer.
m51 for me i could call out to him anyway :-) sang happy birthday to him from there in his last hawks game

He still is brown and gold to me.... Those colours he is wearing now are only his retirement clothes....

Yeah, I agree. And was also good to read his tweets before the Geelong game about how he hoped the boys would break the streak. Shows his heart is still with us!

I haven't given up hope of Brown one day returning and doing a Trent Croad. :thumbsu::) Although it's highly unlikely :(

As much as I love Browny, he would be nowhere near our best 22 atm.

We should get 25,000+ surely? We got about 26,000 versus GWS. Gold coast have more supporters then GWS, not to mention the club giving away free tickets to members. With Buddy back hopefully, he can put a lot more bums in seats! :p People love watching Buddy play, young or old. :)

4.40pm on a Sunday afternoon is tailor-made for television, not live attendance, especially when it should be a total blowout. MCG is predicting 26000 but I reckon they're over-estimating the attendance.

If I can snaffle some free tickets I can swell the crowd by 2 ! Yes there were 26K at the GWS game and about 40 of them were GWS fans. It was funny to see them celebrating in their orange ponchos on the big screen when they scored a goal a quarter. Doubt there would be 26K at the GCS game because of the twilight fixture.

Don't boo him as he did us a big favour... He got his nose out of joint as being touted as possible trade bait to port, and left for cash the following year... In return we received overs from GC for him, and our first 22 is much better off with him at GC... If he was still with us he would be at best a depth player at Box Hill.

So win-win all round... We got more than he was worth, and he got his cash... And poor GC has got bugger all return out of him...

Yeah, he played tough and hard every single match for the Hawks and I was his no. 1 supporter but why did he stuff us around all 2010? He just annoyed me.

Wouldn't tell us if he signed and kept on dragging it on...
I just wanted to come out clean and say what he was going to do. Because it was obvious he never really considered staying with the Hawks.

If my memory isn't playing tricks on me, I believe Mal Brown spilt the beans about his son going north early in the season - said that Campbell had been up on the Gold Coast checking out houses, etc.

Really? I don't really know the details as much as you would in Victoria. Sorry..
But, it doesn't really matter anyway as I won't be at the game so I won't have a chance even if I would of!
