The press are running with the lloyd had to be escorted from the ground because of hawthorn officials and er players waiting for him

I think it's because Lloyd was so convincing with his 'I was afraid' testimony, which let's face it, no-one has any reason to doubt.

He's not the worst going round as a TV performer, but you'd suspect he'd have slept with the lights on after the game that night.

HFC Premiership player. Love the Brown dog. Hopefully Murphy comes down along he was pretty good by all reports against the Giants.

Murphy has been an insanely good pick up. Just offers so much leadership and really helps organize the young troops. Not to mention his shut-down ability on the small forwards. Very very happy with him.

I can see why he'd be so loved. Terrific leader and seems like a really good bloke.

That's great to hear. It would be good for him as a player too to know he is in the starting 22 and can concentrate on helping to develop the talent around him. Sounds like a win for Tom and a win for your mob. Now if only Hawthorn got some sort of compensation for the deal (thanks AFL).

He's always been a good leader. Maybe not in the vocal sense like Hodge barking orders at everyone, but he is very good at organising the youngsters and setting a good example by giving 100% at training and on the field. He's a quality person and a very good role model for the youngsters. Glad he's doing so well at the Suns :thumbsu:

No wrong he was very vocal on field especially when maintaining structures. Great club man thats why he won one. Great team player who knew his limitations

I am very happy to read that Murph is kicking on at the Suns. Great news.

agree used to always see him directing the young ones he was a punching bag of sorts for fans sadly at times as they could not see the good he was doing i am happy he is getting games and helping the young ones still Sunny_ thank you for letting us know how he going etc :-)

Wouldn't mind picking Browny back up if he decides to come home, especially if Guerra and/or Osbourne are going to retire this year. Can play both their roles and will bleed for our colours.

Yes! I am a Murphy fan! Its a pity he didnt get a gig in the GF Last year! Thought his spot was assured after the Prelim! He certainly deserved a spot! Loved his attitude and always put head over the ball!

Brown was pretty damn good in the comentary box last weekend, might have something to do after this year if GC does not work out for him or his body does not hold up. would run rings around Harley, Healey, Darcy etc as a commentator.

I doubt anyone would contradict him.

Wouldn't get a go

Commercial TV and radio is designed to entertain the lowest common denominator, thus, no point having knowledgeable hosts

Also, society is getting stupider, and now frowns upon anyone with an iq greater then 120

Surely you're taking the piss? Wouldn't crack a spot in the 25 let alone the 22

I really Browny had been a one-club player. He bled brown and gold, and we damaged that when we shopped him back in the day... Disgraceful.

I know he ended up going of his own accord, but at the end of the day the club betrayed him and now we have to watch him run out in another jumper.

Mad Dog bled for the club but he was finished as a Hawthorn player the year he left for the Suns. He'd be twice as finished now.

Surely you are kidding. He wanted certainty of 3 years, the club offered year by year. Brilliant call by Hawthorn as Brown has played very few games since he left the club. Unfortunately Brown didn't negotiate like he played football and wasn't prepared to back himself in, year by year. Prefer to have him, but adios.

Good to see the hard nut out there again today for his first game of the season. 3goals 3behinds and no reports - a pretty good effort :thumbsu:

We could see Guerra match up on Brown next week. Two Bulls going head to head. :):thumbsu:

Dude, the club didn't betray him. He was gone long before the media ran with a story about him being up for trade to Port.

He saw the writing on the wall, his exact words to me was he loves hawthorn but saw the talent coming thru and hated playing as a defensive forward. With the lure of setting up his retirement fund and a promise by guy to play him in the back line he took the money and ran, but still loves hawthorn.

After I heard that and saw what he gave to the club pre and post 2008 I would never boo him and wish him all the best at Gold Coast a true hawthorn mongrel and champion. Anyone who would boo him deserves a kick to the head

Brown's best football is well behind him and all hawks should appreciate what he has done for our club in the past, though it's pretty obvious him leaving was much better for the Hawks than the suns. The Gold C%nts (as Gerard Healy calls them) I think recruited him to help look after the young players on the field and with the money they paid him (Rumoured to be 450,000 a year) he has done sweet **** all. A great retirement package for him gets to surf enjoy beach life and pocket a nice wad of cash.

Love his passion for the game, seeing his fist pump after he kicked a goal reminded me so much of the goal that he kicked from 55m in the 2008 GF.

Given the way that he left the Hawks I have no ill feeling for him. I would like to see him back at the Hawks post playing career.. He could even get squeezed out of the Suns next year as their list develops.

Love to have a beer with Browny one day!!

How do you guys & girls feel about the former Hawks #30
