Gives his all for the jumper he's wearing.......and loved his efforts while at the Hawks
Now it's a Gold Coast one so I couldn't care less how he goes

Think we will see him become a commentator next year
He has too much knowledge/opinion

ever notice that Emma Quayle gets little recognition compared to Kellie Underwood?

Commentary is there to appeal to the lowest of the low, and is not for intellectual insight

Say what you will about him – and don't think we'll see him back in the commentary box anytime soon – but he was an absolute gun footballer! I feel like he's off field antics take away from just how good he was for us. Not just as a tough, uncompromising and inspirational defender, but a seriously spectacular forward too. Can't really think of any comparable footballers to him playing today, but bloody hell he'd be handy for us right now.

Just as irrepressible ball of muscle and fast twitch fibers.

His bash and crash, that signature two footed launch dropping back into the hole; cat like return to his feet, and never quite right looking but highly effective kicking style were awesome for our club .

Loved him at his best, just a maniac for the jumper. And bloody hell, playing CHB and dominating at 180cm tall. Was unreal.

Would do well in this current era with his strength, pace and attack on the ball.

For those who didn't see him in the under 18s he was barely able to hit a target most of the time but worked and worked and did the same with the sprint coach, Babba. Turned himself into just about the best he could be. Loved his AA year and the way he played against tall forwards was incredible. To kick an early goal and then go down back in the granny was a pretty incredible effort. Not a fan of the carry on that led to suspensions, just not needed when his intimidation was attack on the ball. Was at a VFL match after he returned from the Nigel Smart shoulder injury and for some reason Mal started to talk to me, just a chatty guy I guess. Said how proud he was as a dad and I said I had seen him play in the juniors. Campbell then popped his shoulder again and Mal went down and ripped into the docs, rightly so although could have been done in a slightly nicer way...

Glad you mentioned that. Sam Mitchell gets a lot of praise for his grit and determination (rightly so) but there's no better example of 'if there's a will, there's a way' than Browny. His initiative as a school kid to take on a sprint coach to add speed to his game and put in all those extra hours alone to work on his deficiencies is nothing short of inspiring for anyone looking to achieve success in their field. As for those highlights, other than Buddy and Cyril, i dont reckon you'll find a better package from any Hawks player of the modern era.

Pretty sure he was the one who understood the Kokoda experience, kept energy high by making jokes and singing.

Tried to swim the English Channel.

Pretty sure he deserved AA the year before he got it because of the ridiculous need to ‘earn it’.

That team had natural leaders and he had heaps.

I recall a photo of flooding where he lived, a newspaper photo of him carrying someone’s belongings to safety.

I think he blanketed Ablett Jnr in the national champs.

He got himself signed to GC and fired by GC.
