We didn't poach talent from other clubs as such but did have the ability to entice players from interstate.
So if it's an interstate team in another state it's entice? What about Willaims?

One only needs to look back at the 99 point margin game to see Campo's effectiveness

Campo's opponent that day was Mr Dyson, who happened to kick 3 VERY EASY goals.

You know how campo will get his 20 touches.....chip to himself at the kickout, short kick, then get the handball receive

Enjoy! :D

The two differences being, he won't be kicking out at Essendon and if he doesn't play good footy he'll get dropped.

You have to remember he is coming to Essendon to provide depth to our midfield, not be the main event.

I said we didn't do it as such. What I meant was 'as a rule'. I assumed he was referring to a bygone era where Kernahan, Bradley, Motley, Dorotich, Naley etc came to the Blues. They were playing for less money in a lesser competition, we enticed them to the club. We traded for Williams and lets not forget we were the idiots who sacked him the first time around, we probably felt a need to gain some face back from that whole debacle.

Besides, the whole issue of the way we used to acquire players to the way we have to acquire them now is an invalid point. The system says we can't do what we used to do. Not relevant to the point at hand and is more of a cheap shot than anything.

And players like Mark Bolton prove that this cannot be done.
Missing the point entirely. You only need one player to do it to prove it can be done. Another player not being able to do it doesn't prove it can't be done because the first player has already done it. Every subsequent player that fails lowers the odds of it being done but it can NEVER be said that it can't be done.

Okay? I'm done. ;)

O'Halpin has been promoted.
But lets face if it if he does turn out to be a dud we know who will take him.........

Had the better of Andrew Lee yesterday, and certainly is ahead of Bolton, Henneman, Cartledge and Neagle, among others.

Bolton, Henneman and Cartledge won't be on our list next year while Neagle is 17, Setanta is in your best 22?

I don't know who looked more goofy with the footy in their hands yesterday, Setanta or Kepler

BAHAHAHAHA!

Get you hand off it.

Watching O'Hailpin was as amusing as watching a one legged cat trying to bury its s--t on an iced up lake. He was like a chloroformed Bolton.

So you reckon O'Donnell taking Lee off had nothing to do with him being beaten by Setanta? Believe what you will, but denial only works for so long.

Lee's played all of 4 games, what an effort... Lee will be a better player than the spud.

Like DaSawx said, if he's in your best 22 you're in trouble.

And Setanta's played a whole 6 games. One has been kicking a footy since they were probably 5 or 6, the other for 2 1/2 years. One has obviously developed quicker than the other and will continue to do so.
BTW, if Bolton is still in your best 22 then you are in even bigger trouble.

If Setanta's sooooo much better than Andy Lee, how come Lee kicked an absolute beauty of a goal whilst Setanta kicked a straightforward shot out on the full?

Bolton has played 13 out of 16 games this season. 52 out of 62 in the last 3 seasons. That makes him a regular in the 22.
Using that logic, hird and lloyd aren't in our best 22.

Martyn delisted after one season. O'hAilpin has been promoted to the senior list and is looking good.

O'Hailpin is also an A grade sporting talent.

It's only taken a few years to realise that one of them is an utter spaz. The other one is still on the outer. It'll probably take another two for them to discover that the other one is shyyyte.

Campo would walk into the current Carlton line up. Ratten would kiss his feet to get him back.

Yep.. Campo would walk STRAIGHT into our midfield
I nor any other Carlton person, want Campo anywhere near our club.
Now a days at Carlton, you have players kissing Ratten's feet to join the club!
