Don't need to be the biggest but clubs needs to maintain their focus on supporting Melbourne based supporters.

I've never worried about being the biggest club. I admit that maybe that's been conditioned by always knowing we would never hold that mantle. Why would anyone actually care about being the "biggest" club, by the way?

I'm hopeful of any growth we can continue to make. For clubs like Collingwood, even after sustained periods of being rubbish, they are always going to be okay.I am accepting that Geelong will never be the biggest club, but I am also accepting that we have become one of, if not the best run club in the competition, thanks to the hard work in the early days by Frank Costa, Brian Cook and Bomber Thompson, and the ongoing work of Chris Scott (in my view THE best coach in the AFL) and Steve Hocking.
It's why on BF supporters of other clubs try to cut Geelong down, because against all conventions, we just keep on presenting as a finalist every year, even after losing superstars like Hawkins, Selwood, Ablett etc.
It's like people who have a long self-abuse session over whether their side has won 16 AFL/VFL flags or not. The only people who care are Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon supporters. Nobody else.
