IDespite how much lack of success Gold Coast have had since entering the comp, never made the finals etc, and how much success GWS have had since entering the comp, playing in multiple final series' including a Grand Final, if Gold Coast win the flag this year that would put them streets ahead of GWS.

I reckon they will win two by the end of the decade. The list they have now, with Walter, Reed, Rogers and Lombard maturing - plus they will get Z Uwland and Patterson in the draft this year - probably two top 10 picks.

I can see them doing what Hawthorn and Richmond did in the past 15 years.

Really hard to imagine them winning a GF at the G. Have made great progress this year, but are going to have to get a lot better and a lot tougher again.

suns make the grand final
their captain noah anderson is playing his ~150th game or thereabouts, and just his 7th or 8th game ever at the MCG

Yes. Will they? TBC.
Adelaide, Gold Coast, Hawks and Lions are well positioned for multiple cracks.

Fremantle should be in this position too but just can't seem to work as a team.
Apart from beating your mob and winning 11 of our last 12?

It'll be a major **** up if they don't. Other than an elite small forward they have all the tools.
No, they don't IMO - particularly through the middle. Their midfield is good, but it's not at the level of Brisbane etc. They also lack that one really great top end midfield star - a Bont/Neale/Daicos/Anderson/Nasiah/Butters type.

They're right up there, though.

Tell me more about this Anderson person...

If Damian Hardwick wins a flag at the Suns, would he be the best coach of all time?

Taking a pretty hapless Richmond team to 3 flags in 4 years after 36 years in the wilderness and then coming up and taking a Suns team, that had never come close to making finals in their history to an AFL premiership would have to put him in the conversation at least.
