Can Maxwell Play forward??

Kicked two consecutive 5-goal hauls in the late 90's for the Dockers. With the ability he has to read the play and also stay with his opponent on a lead, he could be a very hard match up in the forward line late in his career if needed.

i believe one of these was against essendon playing on Dustin Fletcher...Kevin Sheedy said something along the lines of he was the next Mathew Lloyd. One of the better full-foward performances he had ever witnessed. Now thats saying something...
But of course MM could play Jason Cloke there in a grand final, but cant give Jimmy Clement even a quarter.

Only could play as a forward if playing as a defensive forward whose job it was to 'tag' an attacking defender.

That's a good point. Tagging a Cornes down back is a good gig for him if needed. I think Maxwell has actually tagged Chad Cornes up forward before with pretty good sucess.

I wouldn't like to see Maxwell forward permantly, but I'd like him to float forward more for a goal.

When reading Eddiesmiths posts keep in mind he has a huge bias against Nick "Took the spot of J.Cloke" Maxwell.

Yep thats it, anyone who says anything other than what a superstar Maxwell is has a grudge

It amazes me with Nick how often when he plays a bad game so many are unaware of it and yet there is always plenty who see it but alas some dont want to know about it

You know, I can guarantee that if we delisted Maxwell, and clubs had a chance to pick him up for free, he would definitely have been picked up.

Yet when one's favorite player should have a bad game, some people blame the coach.

I actually thought I read that maxwell was a fwd in his junior days, could be wrong, but i thought i read it. wouldnt be able to tell anywhere where though.
