A Paul Chapman-type career is on the cards if he ends up with a large catalogue of strong finals. Chappy was a hell of a player.

When I watch Nick Watson play, I see the same explosiveness that GAJ once had in his prime.

Mostly spends a lot of time forward at this stage of his career, but given time, he becomes a full-time mid - look out!

Exciting player to watch.

That's my prediction. Too good for fwd pocket and when he becomes full-time mid - GAJ comparisons.

What do you think?
Even as a Hawks fan this is ridiculous. They’re not comparable at all. Watson will never be a full time mid. Won’t be because he can’t but because he’s better suited to the modern mid-fwd or in his case more of a fwd-mid split.

He’s in what year 2-3. Yes he’s supremely talented and shown to be a very good player but this is so far fetched, that goes for anyone. No one currently should be compared to someone of Ablett Jr’s quality.

If his hamstrings stay intact he could be what Hawthorn wanted Cyril to be as more of a midfielder… tho again he’s played just the 45 games. Give it a rest

Without question the MOST OVERRATED player in the history of world sport.

This idiotic thread supports this.
This thread is ridiculous

This comment is also ridiculous

We now need an insane Hawthorn supporter to bring this thread back every 2 days for the next 20 years, arguing no matter what that Watson is the best, and who thinks because they always argue and people get tired of refuting their points that they (the Hawthorn supporter) obviously won the debate.

Forget GAJ. He is WAY ahead of Daicos at the same age.

Move over Dusty and that try hard Collingwood flog that complains about finishing second all the time.........Nick Watson is the new GOAT!
IVe had to put multiple Pies on ignore for this behaviour. Anytime my algorithm suggests Daicos wasnt the best player all hell breaks loose.

the Wiz has started to grow on me

2nd in the Coleman isnt bad for a 170cm who was called a fail 10 games into his career.

The two things that have always stood out since he arrived at the Hawks is how early he reads the play before anyone else and his turbo agility. It’s elite. He is definitely a does things you can’t teach type. Glad he wears the brown & gold!

He’s played 2 games half the comp haven’t played yet.
I commend your positivity
His two games have been
17 disposals 7 contested
2.2 with 1 GA 8 SI
4 tackles 4 inside 50s

17 disposals 6 contested
4.2 with 1 GA 11 SI
5 tackles 4 inside 50s

Been unreal to start the year. Loving his work around the ball too, freak.

My comment was Clearly about yourself mentioning the Coleman
There’s 6 teams that haven’t started the season yet.

Yeah he’s killing it more disposals tackles inside 50s than butters, serong, brayshaw, rozee
More goals than Treacy thrilla larkey

yeah a lot of throwaway comments going on hahaha

At least it wasn't a Hawthorn supporter who started this

As to what level he can get to I don't know but it is going to be a lot of fun watching it over the next 10 years.
I mean. I cringed when I saw this thread title

But he's closer to GAJ then being the most over-rated player in the AFL.

He's 21 and we'll see in the next 8 weeks. Hell if he's as good as he was last year ild take it. He got a little unfairly dumped on for having a bad finals game, but I mean he's 20 and a small forward. Two things that can really make you struggle in finals games
He has also played more very good finals than bad ones which for a young small forward is a very good start
